Since the original idea has been implemented (and clearly described - thanks, AI), this thread is resolved and locked.

Re: Re-balancing the horse unit to increase survivability

Okay, this thread appears to have just become a general grab-bag of ideas having anything to do with horse units. As far as I can see, the original poster failed to make a case that increasing survivability was a good thing. As such, I'm locking this thread. Feel free to open a new thread for any of...

Ah, but these are Wesnothian bats, not terran ones. They're much bigger than Terran bats, for starters...

Re: Skeleton Warrior portait

Do disregard my post though Girgistian; I think being too anatomically correct (specifically the bones in this case) may drive you nuts. :P I totally agree that those minor tweaks probably aren't necessary if you don't want to do them. OTOH, it's a great opportunity to get a better grasp of human a...

Re: main villain - 3rd try (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)

IMO, the problem with the wrinkles is that they make his shirt look as though it's pulled taut over the upper arm. However, the shirt sleeves are a lot larger than his arm so there's no reason for the shirt sleeve to be pulled taut - it should be hanging loose.

Re: Purchase multiple units in Recruit Screen?

If so, yes you can, but Ctrl-R,Down, Down, Down, Down, Down,Enter is a fair bit slower than Ctrl-R,6,Enter... Is it? Perhaps a bit slower, but easier, at least how I type on my laptop - my right hand's default is hovering over the arrow keys and touchpad with my left on the keyboard, so if I want t...

Re: Skeleton Warrior portait

His right hand is wrong anatomically. You've treated each of the metacarpals (palm bones) and proximal phalanges (first bit of the fingers) as one long bone, and the carpals appear to be fused with the radius and ulna (forearm bones). The shape of the humerus could stand tweaking, too. See here for ...

It clutters the interface.
Clutter has as much to do with how the information is organised, as with how much of it there is.

Re: A few simple ideas

Yeah, I guess I could have made it branch from a swordsman..but from which unit it branches or if it's a stand-alone unit - that's up to the campaign, so it's no bigge. Don't get me wrong - you could certainly have a dismounted branch of the Paladin. You should just also have a branch that's strict...

So would a lot of people, but it's a contentious issue and majority Dev opinion (including Dave's) is that it should remain as is.

Re: Re-balancing the horse unit to increase survivability

But one of the things I am including are variants of many of the loyalist units. I designed a version of the charge special called "Mounted Charge" which has a few changes. I would suggest changing the name. AFAIK the standard "Charge" weapon special applies only to mounted units anyway, so the nam...

EDIT: Before anyone asks, yes, I know that the portrait is taken from Heroes V...it's a placeholder till I make a good one. IMO, it's better to have no portrait at all than one using proprietary art. Since you can't redistribute the unit with proprietary art in there, there's no point having it. Th...
