Re: ok. thats enough of lies. /// new units and faction

There's a couple of issues here: (1) Creatures like hydras come from ancient myth and can be used by anyone. (2) It's okay to be inspired by preexisting works, but not to copy them outright. This is sometimes a hard line to draw and it's better to err on the side of caution. In the cases you cited t...

Re: New trait for dwarves : fast-gunner

*cough*WINR*cough* True, and I almost said that myself, but this is really an argument about intuitiveness not realism. ie. Wesnoth doesn't have to be realistic, but it shouldn't run counter to the player's reasonable expectations either. Regardless, the current Thunderer passes both tests, so it's...

Re: Art for Invasion from the Unknown (animating: Elynia)

Here are a couple of tweaked versions for comparison:

Unfortunately they all look kind of poor against the forum background...

Re: New trait for dwarves : fast-gunner

To be quite honest, when I first started playing, and realized there was such a thing as "first-strike" via the spearman - and was subsequently introduced to the thunderstick weilding-dwarves, i just assumed they'd also have first strike, but for range. I was very wrong. AFAIK, Vicza is right - wit...

Re: Voice Activated Commands

I suppose it would be easier if the game displayed the hex coords, then you could be like "Archer at 51,55 attacks Wolf Rider at 55,55!" It does sound like an interesting idea to output a text log of what's going on (to STDOUT?). That seems like it'd have applications beyond just disability support.

Re: Make Python Scripts useable from WML

I vaguely recall there were some security weaknesses in supporting python scripts.

Can anyone elaborate?

Thanks.

Re: Art for Invasion from the Unknown (animating: Elynia)

Of course, I could do that... except that I have a personal distaste for i.e. Elvish Champion's gigantic sword / knife-thingy. I believe Espreon just meant a little longer in length. Currently the blade looks a little squat, like a shortsword. OTOH, that may be because of the width of the blade rat...

Idea: Script to nearest-neighbour colours->TColor

Split from here . [1] Never introduce any new colors into the edit. This will break team color, and may later break automated recolors of body parts. That reminds me - ever since I had to do the TColor for the Free Goblin Skypillow I've wanted to do the following, but don't have the skill (or the ti...

Heck, I'm going to write in a part just to fit this portrait! (Not soon, sadly - very busy at the moment. :( )

Re: My small contribution (added portrait sketches)

As for the belly/chest, I deliberately didn't want to make her too skinny...IIRC the human anatomy, the belly is usually a bit extruded It is indeed. And I'm a big fan of art using more realistic non-supermodel proportions (although skinny is essentially mandatory for elves). However, she's extrude...

I dunno. That mushroom doesn't look particularly perturbed to me - it looks disinterested rather than conquered. :)

I don't think there was any contention over the druid, just over the shyde and sylph.

Apparently the unit is now an Elvish priestess, so something like this maybe?

Re: main villain - 3rd try (Art for campaign Bad Moon Rising)

Thanks. Minor edits to Scarrion: To break the impression of a taught sleeve, wrinkle goes up into the shoulder. IMO, the main problem with the wrinkles is their direction - they're pulling strongly towards his forearm, rather than falling due to gravity. Compare: http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/downlo...

Re: My small contribution (added portrait sketches)

Nice. I really like the faces and posing. The bodies and limbs seem a bit shapeless to me though - a bit straight-up-and-down. Please forgive my crappy mousing skills on this PC, but hopefully the idea is clear. (The male seems like he should be broader at the shoulders too, but I couldn't demonstra...

With the eyes, I would suggest either dimming them a bit, or illuminating the inside of his eye sockets more. As it is, not enough light seems emanated for the brightness of the eyes. P.S. Your work is real good. I pick nits because there are only nits left to pick... P.P.S. Your rib cage also looks...
