the shadow makes the ball look deformed. You could also try a smaller ball if the guy is going to have a movement >1. You are right. But what should I do about it? Actualy, thats a good point. Originaly I considered the idea to be too cliche but it would add to the recognisability of the unit. Somthing is wrong with the new picture. The ball and chain looks off somehow.

I disagree with fading the head. Some units have a more top down look than others. I proportioned this unit off of the elves whom are less so. I did however try to shrink the neck and make the front of the head less like a snout. :) I tweaked the chain too.

I tweaked the eyes so they look a bit smaller (IMHO) and sadder.

I also think I figured out the smile thing. by puting gloss on the front of the face it creates a bighter line which could add to the appearance of a smile. I'm not sure what to do about it. Any ideas?

Need Criticism: Slave

Hi, I just found Wesnoth a few days ago and have been studying it quite closely. I thought I might try my hand making a unit. This is my FIRST TRY so please try to keep outright dismissal to a low and focus on what needs improving. Yes, I hope to be animating it later.

Basic premise: Slave fodder.
