I have that problem too. I want to rant agaist this "developer" mentality in the free-software/ open source movement, but I will save that for my blog. The problem is probably that you need the python libraries. For some reason, developers expect users to enjoy reinstalling thier operatating system ...

Thoughts on AGPL3

On June 11th, the FSF released the first draft of the AGPL3. Since this forum has a lot of free-software gamers, I was wondering if you have any take on the license and what may need to be improved. In light of the fact that game companies could take the code from the game under the plain old GPL3 a...

My three cents worth on game design

I think part of the problem with game designers in general, is, instead of thinking of a game they want to play, they always think of some tedious thing to torment the players. Several things I think programers and game designers in general tend to forget is 1) players are more easily flustrated tha...

My Elf Portrait

I truely do not expect this to get into the game. I don't even think it is suitable. I just couldn't help my elf.

Zophas from Griffen's tale move through walls. I don't think ghosts should move through walls since that would unbalance alot of maps. It is bad enough we have terrains like lava that favor flying units.

Can't Load Summor's era games.

I can save summor'r era multiplayer games, but when I load them it says that one of the units is not found so it won't load. How do I fix this?

I think we mostly agree that .png is sufficient for editing artwork. .png contains all the important visible information of the artwork in a form that can be read by humans and computers. The problem might come when trying to edit something like a .jpg. .jpgs lose quality every time you save them ag...

Forgive me for bringing this back on topic here, but yes, we seriously need a Wesnoth MMORPG. I think the main thing that keeps this from happening is a lack of programers, and there is no easy way to make that up quickly.

I dont' think that wose was my best work, or even very good. I will admit the awful process I followed now to make such an abomination. First I took the wose in game, then I enlarged it in the gimp. After that I drew over it to give it more detailed leaves and such. Then I tried to change the positi...

nd I don't think it is sufficient for short, beginner-friendly campaigns to be available on the campaign server. Most beginners will start with the campaigns in front of them, not with those on the server. A campaign suitable for beginners has to packaged with the game, or beginners will never know...

Hint for newbie campaign makers

Make sure that the number of turns are input correctly, otherwise, thosse custom units you worked so hard on will not appear at all and the user will be moving around or running into invisible units. I have seen this bug in at least two campaigns so far.. Out of the Swamps and Eternal Kingdom.
