Re: Wesnoth 1.5.9

Some new screenshots might be a good idea, showing off a few new shiny features, like the dialogue system or the new menu backgrounds, on the front page. This would certainly create some more excitement about the upcoming 1.6 :) I'd do it myself, but my forum account doesn't seem to work for editing...

Python support should be off by default, only people which know what they are doing should enable it. I think Python's not that bad. However it would be nice to have the build dependancy mentioned explicitly in the wiki and/or the release announcement. edit: Also the INSTALL file doesn't mention it...

OMGWTFBBQ~~!!! You stole my joke! Hehe  Was kinda obvious anyway. No, it's hex. 1.E lf1 = 1.14 LF1. Don't ask me what the LF stands for. Hey - if anything, it's german and thus translates to version 1.111 ("Elf" [ger.] = 1: elf, fantasy creature; 2: eleven, the number) CU Cyberfrag

Yeah, or the next version could be called "1.Elf1". This would of course force a timely delivered final version 1.0, as names would run out very soon :P Who would have thought, that the decision, not to include too many different races, would prove itself to be a mistake so early on :shock...

I listened through the angelic sounds as well as the kJazz sounds.

My proposal is either angel_question.ogg from the angelic package or email.ogg from the kJazz package. angel_open sounds good, too, but is probably too long not to be a nuissance after some time.

Game polishing: sound on advancement

Hi, I'd just like to throw in an idea that came up lately and would be a good candidate to include in 1.0 (IMHO): Play a sound on unit level-up. This would a) be easy to accomplish (I tested it myself - just a oneliner in actions.cpp - something like sound::play_sound("$SOUNDFILE"); ) b) a...

Well, I think the question is, whether it is Frodo alone, who is greeted, or him and his whole company (Sam, Pippin, Merry). Case one would use dual plural (ending -vo -> that's also what my edition says), case two would use inclusive plural (ending -mo -> of course the ending Miyo should use as he ...

Ah - dual - I thought of it a minute after I posted, but then I looked in the wrong place...

My fault of course :-)

Oh mighty master of languages...
Shouldn't this actually read "Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo"? ;-)

Hm... my brother plays Ragnarok and from what I saw, I'd say the quality of the graphics is about the same. Now - Wesnoth, unlike Ragnarok, isn't a 3D-rendered game - yet the question remains: Does a game have to have a 3D-engine to be considered "polished" these days? In my opinion: No. C...

Hey all, Now I just registered to post a reply on this one... I was worried about just the same, sycophant complains about. I already figured out before, that the random number generator seems to be okay - at least as far as I dived in :-) However I am still getting "impossible" results. Y...
