Re: High (fullscreen) resolutions
Before doing something as drastic as changing the computer, I would try first to see if the video card is properly installed/ works properly...

Re: What are you reading right now?
Just now, I am reading the second book of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, "The Restaurant at the end of the Universe". Pretty nice series, if you ask me.
After that, I'll read book 8 of warhammer 40000's horus heresy saga, Mechanicus
Love reading!

Re: iPhone port of Wesnoth?
Problem with that is you'd lose all the keyboard shortcuts which is a huge part of wesnoth for me. You could always bring up the virtual keyboard but that's clumsy and way too time-consuming. Not only that, but the significantly reduced number of hexes on board as well as other visual limitations t...

Re: iPhone port of Wesnoth?
I am not so sure about the feasibility of wesnoth on such a device. For example, consider that wesnoth is usually played in relatively long matches, and that is a scenario that is not going well with iPhone: battery consumption would be an obvious example, then the fact that there is no backgroundin...

Alt tabbing out of game in Mac version?
Hello,
is there a way to minimize Wesnoth in the Mac version? (Please, if it is a general-mac-question, do not kill me... I am new to macs )
TIA,
Polaris

Desert Elfs in multi player games?
Hello, I just started playing "Under the burning suns", and I found it really excellent... So much that I want to use desert elves even in multiplayer games. Can I do this? I have briefly skimmed through the configuration panel for nultiplayer games, but I didn't find any sign of the deser...

First like often stated - non accelerated is slower by design. Animations do take longer. Agreed, but the game should not give the feeling of slow. Second, it seems like P4 for some reason is much slower then other archs. Don't know why. This should probably be investigated. Even MS VC6 allows for ...

Hello, I have been away from Wesnoth for quite some time, but today I downloaded version 1.1.8 for Windows XP (precompiled binaries). Apart from the great improvements that I have seen (last I tried version 1.1.3) I have to say that the whole game is __really__ slower. I am not referring to any spec...

Yep Scott, definetly get Linux. One of the main reasons for this is virus/spyware/adware makers don't think about/understand/know linux . They make everything EXE files. So unless you have Wine set to auto-excecute, you should be safe in that area. (AFAIK). The main reason is that (sadly) LINUX is ...
