Thank you for the response, Ken Oh! It made me try this scenario out again once I had Wesnoth 1.3.11 compiled. And lo and behold: It runs, it does... :D Observations: -One of my mages keeps getting too many additional mana points on advance: 8 instead of 4 (and yes, I am selecting spells on his adva...

Can still easily crash 1.3.11 in this way. In contrast to 1.3.10, I was able to compile it using 'configure --enable-debug'. However, gdb still says it can't find the debugging symbols, and stays uninformative. :( Guess I will have to try out the official debian package once its available, if I real...

Since I spotted the sticky "how to generate a backtrace", here is the end of a backtrace gotten with 'gdb wesnoth', and 'run'. (PS: As can already be seen from my first post, it doesn't crash every time, but so often that it is easy to catch (50% maybe)) gdb wesnoth run ... [New Thread -1260803184 (...

Just finished compiling again using './configure --with-kde' (yes, my machine isn't the fastest, so these things take a bit. :) ). Runs through without errors 8) . However, compiling with './configure --with-kde --enable-debug' aborted with: i486-linux-gnu-g++ -I ./sdl_ttf -I../intl -I../intl -I/usr...

Allright, I couldn't get it to compile using the command './configure --with-kde --enable-debug' (during make, the linking failed). I am retrying with only the '--with-kde' switch to see whether my system or my procedure changed (after all, I do have wesnoth running). Since you are implying that a b...

All right, I'm recompiling wesnoth with '--enable-debug'.
After that I'll see whether I can get gdb to spit the info out (haven't done this before).
This'll take a bit... :P

For me, this scenario (v. 0.4.1) makes wesnoth crash with a memory access violation, as soon as I select it (push the OK button). OS: Debian unstable wesnoth version: 1.3.10 console output: set locale to 'C' loadscreen: filesystem counter = 296 loadscreen: binarywml counter = 0 loadscreen: setconfig...

flaky upon interrupted add-on download

To reproduce: 1. Start downloading a (bigger) add-on from within wesnoth. 2. Interrupt you internet connection while the download is going on . 3. wait until you get the "remote host disconnected" message 4. click again on "Add-ons" The first time this (accidently) happened, wesnoth crashed with a m...

Had the same problem on compiling wesnoth 1.3.10 (on Debian unstable). Without this thread I would not have known what to do - the error message isn't exactly easily translatable into what is actually broken. My opinion: It would be quite advisable to fix/include the check in configure... :P

You can change your multiplayer preferences to only display a single chatline at a time - that way the messages don't fill up half your screen. :)
However, the same scenario either should or shouldn't display such messages - independent of the machine you are running wesnoth on... :shock:

Just to toss in an idea how an improveded healing algorithm could work (although ignatius probably has his own idea anyway - inspiration can't hurt, though) algorithm steps: 1. resting and village healing 2. while there are healers left that can heal: - calculate for each healer how much healing poi...

I think the second slider is too complicated/too much detail. And nobody stated a good reason why a unit moving twice as fast SHOULDN'T move twice as fast. :roll: But the first slider sounds like a good idea. Could make me actually turn of accelerated movement again. :D And I like the way proportion...

IMHO, the whole point of having rules options is to make the game unbalanced on purpose . Well spoken. :roll: I think if such options only exist as a configuration option inside a text file, most of the arguments against them should be debunked. They require far less code to be implement (no gui to...

And which of the human vs AI icons made it? I personally liked the one with Lisar best. It is the only one with a human that actually attacks the computer. Besides, Lisar looks good. :wink: Well ok, fmunoz one does that too, but I add my vote to the majority that an actual computer is much funnier. :D

Well, either she is a bit small, or her head is to big... (Which one, depends on what angle you assume the picture to show) This is almost like those pictures showing to faces: The content changes, depending how you look onto it. I just do not know how important that error in the image is. *shrug* (...
