Re: Pestilence (city management scenario 1.16)

You could try doing some self-imposed challenges, like not using any of the especially inhumane policies I don't which ones you consider "especially" inhumane lol, but I did go the "mercy" path. Most extreme policy was burning corpses I think. Anyway I see what you're saying, yo...

Re: Pestilence (city management scenario 1.16)

A fun scenario, although I played it solo so didn't get the full experience. (I left one side on AI but I probs should have played both.) My main feedback would be it's just too easy, if I could win handily with one side being AI. A fun concept, I like the idea of having to play with a faction you h...

[UMC] Ally Defense Ability (& how to Implement it)

Hello, I have an idea for a unit ability that might be a good addition, but I don't know how to code it, so this is both a presentation of the ability itself and a query about how to implement it. Original conception is that this is an ability for a branching promotion of the Dwarvish Guardsman, in ...

Re: WF - Wild Frontiers [SP Campaign]

Hello guy, Do we have a basic guideline for how to play this campaign? I'd appreciate any information you guy could give me. I very like this game but I feel like i'm missing something during the whole game. I just spawn "farm" and "village on hill" the whole game, build some mi...

Re: [mainline] Knalgan Alliance Promotions

It will be denied as the FPI thread says. I'm new, I don't know what FPI is, but I did read the [Must Read]. I make balance suggestions as well, but mainly I am curious of what people think about separate promotion paths in mainline. This does not affect balance much, and as someone who is new to t...

Re: [mainline] Knalgan Alliance Promotions

Originally that thread was made to address Dwarven mobility, and another suggestion I made, but far less fleshed out, was Thunderer -> Pistolier, a unit with 5 move points, two gunpowder themed piercing attacks, and the ability to move back one hex after attacking. I'm sure movement after attacking ...

[mainline] Knalgan Alliance Promotions

So I posted this in the Multiplayer Development forum, but I wanted to see what sort of a reaction it would get here. So in short, I think it is unfortunate that the Knalgan Alliance has no promotion paths (no tier II branching, I now know poacher later on). Yes, I understand ideally I would propose...

Re: Knalgan Alliance Promotion Branching

I can think of other interesting and appropriate promotion paths, which I will not write out in such detail. I like your idea of a slowing human unit. Perhaps the Shieldbearer need not advance to some level three unit, instead maybe the Guardsman has another option, still called Dwarven Phalangite, ...

Re: Knalgan Alliance Promotion Branching

Oh, I did not know Poacher->Trapper has promotion branching. That's neat. I think slow is an interesting idea. Since Dwarves are slow, and wear their enemies down in fights of attrition over multiple turns, it would make sense for them to want to slow enemies down so they could maintain pursuit. Lea...

Re: Knalgan Alliance Promotion Branching

Regarding Dwarven promotion being good, sure, it certainly is, for the most part. Actually the Dwarven Fighter might have one of the best promotions for XP in game. The Gryphon Master is up there too. I wouldn't, however, call the Dwarvish Thunderguard one of the best level 2's in game. It's an impr...

Knalgan Alliance Promotion Branching

So first of all I am not a multiplayer expert. The following remarks are based off of following the game just recently. I understand some people seem to think the Knalgan Alliance is underpowered in competitive MP. The claim, as it goes, is that 4 movement points for the Knalgan mainstay units is ju...
