Re: Request for Trailers (1.13/1.14)
Wow. :D I'm completely astonished by all the amazing compliments. Thanks so much, everyone! It's an honor to contribute to the epic project that is Wesnoth. For more than six years I've played this game every so often and accompanied the development. It thaught me a bit of English, programming, pixe...

The trailer is done. Exporting it now.
I tried to fix all issues as best as I could.

Re: Descriptions for the Quenoth Elves (Finished drafts)
"Dorqas", "Dhorqas" or "Dorqhas" for added flavor? Figured the "q" and "h" of "Quenoth" could feature in the name so it has a similar naming style.

Re: Request for Trailers (1.13/1.14)
Magenta has feelings too... But yeah, beetlenaut took care of that already, thanks for the help though
Yeah, I figured a youtube link wouldn't suffice. I'll send the video file separately when its done.
I'll omit the roc portrait, then.

Thanks! Happy to help!
The portrait isn't grey-haired, though.Celtic_Minstrel wrote: ↑April 30th, 2018, 2:02 am For the record, I still prefer a grey-haired version, though.

Re: Request for Trailers (1.13/1.14)
I'll replace the text editor, it does look a bit out-of-place. why not take out the second image on some of the other factions? so it goes 2, then 1, then 2, then 1, etc... maybe this is getting needlessly subjective, and there is so much gorgeous art to showcase, but it's already very full-on with ...

And your Era of Magic will also be featured in the new trailer
(Konrad2, there will be a new trailer, so consider that fixed. )

Re: Request for Trailers (1.13/1.14)
1) All the text is a noun phrase in a similar format like hundreds of add-ons, challenging battles, many factions, etc., until you get to the end where you have "Create your own content." It's jarring. You should have, "Content creation system," or "Map editor and scripting...

Re: Good reading about professional art direction
I think that's it. SotA is great, I loved playing it. I'll have to replay UtBS after the new graphics are all done.
As a side note, I did try to include female characters in the trailer where possible.

Re: Good reading about professional art direction
For the record, there are a good amount of high quality UMC campaigns with female leads and an abundance of strong female characters. After the Storm, A New Order, and the Dragon Trilogy come to mind. If anyone is complaining about a lack of UMC campaigns with a non-stereotypical female protagonist...

Re: best non-mainline campaigns?
BMR and Trinity are really amazing, but they are more "alternate history" than potentially canon. IftU and AtS seem to be the most canon-ready UMC campaigns (by virtue of being sequels to UtBS and having an incredible story), and they are some of the best campaigns ever made. TLU is pretty...

Re: Good reading about professional art direction
Relevant . A great article on how good representation of women isn't necessarily synonymous with "less bare skin". It's not something you can quantify with stats about poses, roles, and numbers. That would be making a straightforward science out of something that is very nuanced and compl...

Re: Request for Trailers (1.13/1.14)
Thanks everyone for the nice compliments and detailed feedback :) At 0:29 - 0:30 , there is a noticable cut in the soundtrack. Maybe it is because I know the track quite well by now, but it really irritated me. I played around with using the track without cuts, and it didn't quite reach the epic hei...

Re: Good reading about professional art direction
the female Mage of Light, who would feature in the trailer, had partially uncovered cleavage. So I looked through the rest of the portraits, and was pleasantly impressed by both the quality and the practicality of units' clothing. It won't anymore, but thankfully Wesnoth doesn't have the art direct...
