Yeah, I saw that in my match as well. They weren't the best testing choice. I'll try a match with a few other factions at a later date.

Afterlife becomes easier to win when using a plague faction, and significantly easier to win when using an unplaguable faction (Undead, Khthon, Destroyers) with plague capabilities. For some reason, Aryel still has the Recruit Ghost menu option after Black Cauldron. While this is a very convenient and very enjoyable ability to possess, I don't believe that it was intended.

The Wesnoth community and amount of Dunefolk add-ons is small enough that you couldn't be considered redundant by any fair measure. I think you should shoot for it: you have a vision in mind, and it's better off realised than not.
