Re: To Lands Unknown 3.0 for 1.14

I'm always reporting these silly little things, because I'm always in the map editor, making my unappreciated maps… ahem. Anyway. Previous versions had a definition for the terrain string=Xuq . Although that has been deleted, this yet remains: ## To_Lands_Unknown/macros/terrain_base.cfg 106,108d105 ...

Re: Need Some Creative Minds

What is the theme of your setting? Dungeon Master?

Anyways … I seriously could produce with 7 different worlds of 6 bloodlines each — vis à vis 42 distinct bloodlines. How would you like me to filter them?

[campaign] Unlikely Companions advertising for collaborators

So… This began with me thinking that all those MP campaigns which feature a small group of heroes on a quest should have some accomodation for the actual number of humans participating. With the campaign Unlikely Companions, there are five heroes, but the [side] on which they belong varies with the ...

Re: The Trolling Mod

Is it not actually less offensive than to have these messages come from the other player intentionally? 8) A**holes IRL tend to actually be less amusing than their satrized versions. I only wish most trolls were actually this comical. My favorite message is the one about “giving away free villages”....

Re: The Trolling Mod

Ah, well, whatever. I was just uncertain. I mean, if i really want it, then i can always write a patch for my own use on 1.12. I'm only using 1.12 for now because idiotic Debian doesn't easily support multiple versions of things like the way NixOS kinda does. When i finally sit down and get the dev ...

Re: The Trolling Mod

Did you abandon the 1.12 version? All i see is 1.5.0b on the wesnoth.org add-on server.

Re: TSP1: The Amaranthine Stone 1.0.9 - SP Campaign For 1.12.2

I don't think it is a problem with your campaign because I have this does happen in other campaigns too. I was just interested in seeing if anyone else had the same problem. Usually the "stderr.txt" output will contain the necessary details. In this situation, exactly which image it cannot locate. ...

Re: Moonday Era

That seems reasonable. So long as there are reasons for why symmetry is or is not expressed, then there are no gaps in your ‘world–building’. :)

When i finally compile the latest source and can run the 1.14 add–ons, I'll look forward to playing skirmishes with you on Maasic.

Re: Moonday Era

Thanks for the map and the technological overview! The ‘Filthy rotten stinking samelings’ thing was a joke; don't worry about it. Or, I could say, Don't Panic. What I meant about the nighttime was that diurnal folks would focus their fears and hidden hostilities, as well as any illicit activities, d...

Re: Moonday Era

Finally … :P Maasic has a large main Continent with a frozen pole north, a number of islands east, a big island west and a couple of disjointed floes south. So, does that mean that there is an area of ocean which is devoid of land between the one large island and the archipelago of smaller islands, ...

Re: Moonday Era

On the whole, shouldn't you implement all the factions first and then work on the rough spots? Exactly how much an author wants their work more–or–less completed prior to release is up to them, of course. My friend's era, for example, hasn't even been announced — save for me talking about it here — ...

Re: Dunefolk (previously Khalifate) race description

This is going yet, huh? With the dialect of Ænglisc that I speak, to say human Dunefolk implies that there are ‘non–human’ Dunefolk. Vice versa , Dunefolk humans implies that ‘Dunefolk’ is a quality present or applied to a subset of the other. I.e. that the Dunefolk are an offshoot from the greater ...

Re: Moonday Era

I like to add ### TODO tags in such places, either beside or in lieu of any values however possible. I don't think of any balancing as being counter–lore. Either you can introduce something analogous to the pre–Copernican epicycles which works to provide something that allows you to shift the weakne...

Re: A cross-post comparing wesnoth and other writing communities

Horrible writing gets mocked to scorn in an effort to drive away new authors. (in robot voice) Clarification required! Did you mean that their purpose is to drive away new authors, and so they scorn whatever gives them acceptable opportunity, or that they would rather not allow new authors if the n...
