I think that the Elvish Fighter should have his ranged attack lowered by one point (I mean whith Dextery trait he becomes almost a ranged unit) Very true, they are the only melee fighters that with their bows, given the right circumstances, can do the same amount of damage as some ranged specialist...

I've heard also that in some languages Orc and Ogre can be translated with the same word.

I also noticed that all the units included in the list of the first post don't possess a ranged attack, why also not taking off the dwarvish guardsman's one ? After all the Dwarven faction has another 3 ranged units of which 2 with pierce damage, so not much loss here. The guardsman damage is also n...

I completely agree with Yomar, I would also lower a bit the troll whelp and wose hp, idk if this would unbalance the game tough, but in my opinion adjusting the guardsman defense would actually balance out the game even more.

good point about the fish. as for the group/pack identiy thing, what I was getting at is that when you encoutner Orcs and they come and give you a hard time, it won't be 1 orc jumping out of the bushes to eat you or rob you of your gold, it would be 70 of them! Ogres could probably be solitary and ...
