Regarding the meaning of Khalifate unit names, I have found that : Shuja means "courageous", or "brave". Still relatable to the unit. I do think that the flies in chapter 9 are too muxg. It's a little annoying that you have to avoid killing many demons to prevent spawning flies while you could get items and many experiences from them.

I like your sprites. They looked good.
Just an advice, maybe the spring forestsalamander could be more colorful and flowery so the salamander won't look bland.

Oh, I managed to "manually" fix the bug by changing the units that converted to Malib's side to side 1 with debug mode after winning the scenario and before proceed to the next scenario.

I would like to report a bug,

In scenario Sceptre of Fire, I've choosen Li'sar to take the sceptre, but on the next scenario, Konrad is the one who wield the sceptre.

Could anyone tell me how to fix it?

Err, I would like to report a bug, my Efraim have lost all of it advancement and items in scenario "Any Means Necessary". Nevermind, I have found the cause. The cause is in scenario The Speech. In that scenario Efraim gets killed accidentally. It seems that the kill command supposed to kill the roy...

Err, I would like to report a bug, my Efraim have lost all of it advancement and items in scenario "Any Means Necessary". Also, I would like to say that scenario Bitter Swamp and First Confrontation are too easy, I suggest make the map larger so the protagonist could not catch up to the enemy leader...

About the nerfs, I think what should be done is making all item's numeric properties a difficulty dependent value, because from what I have seen, not all of the items affected by that. Maybe reducing the player's starting gold on most scenarios could work to prevent the player from buying rare gems ...
