Liminal alignment - new implementation

Hello everyone, I hope this is the right section to ask. I know the topic has been debated at length but I couldn't find the thread with the final decision and the wiki doesn't say anything about the 1.15 implementation. My two questions are 1) how does the current liminal implementation work exactl...

Re: Children of the Dust [SP campaign for BfW1.14]

Aah, I was about to report the inability for non-Dwarves to unlock monoliths in S9, but it seems that Y_Plentin already found it before me. Good to see it's something you're aware of! I just uploaded a version with the fix, as well as fixes for a couple more of annoying bugs. Hope you managed to go...

Re: Return from the Abyss [SP campaign for 1.12/1.14]

Forest of the Crossing Paths I'm sorry, I have killed both enemy leaders, then ended the scenario and didn't explore the middle of map (in the deep forest). What optional condition changes in this scenario? The deep forest is just about side quests which may help you in the mission, and flavour eve...

Re: Return from the Abyss [SP campaign for 1.12/1.14]

Can you give me guide after defeating Stone elemental leader via spoiler thread (or PM), plz? Sure, that's unanimously recognized as the hardest level in the campaign, I think, you may find various people discssing it and some nice replay in this thread, for example by taptap or inky (they may be f...

Re: Children of the Dust [SP campaign for BfW1.14]

So, I played it through, and the campaign rocked. What about making it Multiplayer? You have up to 4 leaders, it could be split up. Sounds like an interesting idea, however I've zero experience with MP campaign (both playing/making them). I'm not sure how to adapt it, like what to do with scenarios...

Re: Children of the Dust [SP campaign for BfW1.14]

It seems I found a bug: In "Witness of an End" I recruited a saurian and picked up a key with it. I can not open the lock (spoilersafeness...) with that key - it seems to check "race = dwarf". You're right, I included saurians in the filter for picking keys up, but not for using them. Thanks for fi...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

I don't think we shall assume that Wesnoth's and Dunefolk's development evolved in parallel. Even if they both become the dominant power in the continent at some point, they don't need to go through the same stages to achieve that. Mongols became the world super power while remaining very different ...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

This could be a good start. All we have on the past events concering the Dunefolk and Dwarfs is what you can see here in the thread, meaning almost nothing. You are welcome to expand on this and I will include it in the main posts In that case I'll just report here some notes on the matter which I ...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

Also, remember that was the third sun that crashed down, did the Dunefolk try to stop Wesnoth from rising the second one and failed? Then maybe after that they burned all bridges with Wesnoth and retreated to their lands in isolation, before the final disaster? OT, but I've always found the second ...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

So in the end, it is more or less as you said, as the the time line I suggest the Dunefolk did not exists, they were just a bunch of tribes. So yeah, in a way not the dunefolk themselves, but there imminent ancestors did. Sounds legit to me. I think the two key points are 1. Mistrust comes for awar...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

According to this background, than I am wondering, why would they not stop wesnoth once the ruby of fire gets known of. If dunefolk had merely some merchants in the north, those merchants would have heard of those events and if not than just rumors. Dunefolk would have tried to stop the events surr...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

Oh I think connecting it to the fall it's a nice perspective and can bring some unity to the dunefolk (hi)story arch, and integrating them in the current lore. It doesn't have to be as destructive as the fall, of course, but it could be a comparable event in nature, like the use of elemental magic o...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

What's the reasoning behind changing lore and putting the origin of human race in the green isle? This is maybe object for another discussion but I don't find it very convincing. From a world-building point of view, it really restricts possibilities of past events and feels like a huge limitation t...

Re: Dunefolk Lore - Consolidation

Just adding my bits of dunefolk head-canon, even though I haven't followed the recent developments and some of this may be outdated. As a preliminary consideration, what I'd really wouldn't like to see is that dunefolk become a 'biome civilization' too much flattened to and characterized as desert-d...
