Glad to hear that! Have you heard about the BG2 remaster that is currently in works?
Nope. I know about Enchanced Edition series made for all games for infinity engine by Beamdog.
I also played and finished BG:Siege of Dragonspear by Beamdog which can be counted as BG 1.5 and found it quite qood.

Re: Anyone remember Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura

I remember it of course. Replayed it 2 years ago. Also I like BG and fallout 1/2. I was able to reach Icewind Dale this year (not much free time in the life) but it was not nearly close as BG2. Was playing BG2 not so long ago again. And I still have not finished Planescape Torment but I plan to. Als...

Re: Battle For Wesnoth on Windows98 :)

As I remember new versions of Wesnoth demands processors that support new SSE 2.0 instructions.
So something like 1.08 must work on really, really old computers.

Re: A Whim of Fate [SP Campaign]

I followed the instruction of the first maze but missed the teleport location at the top right corner. I will make an event with a screen centering on a new island with silver mages once it acquired to be sure that a player wouldnt miss that he get it and can go further. I think that you should not...

Re: Poll: do you like Wesnoth RNG?

There where two polls, this and that I created about using save and loads. I want to conclude. It is appeared that people like Wesnoth RNG and the same time they like to do reloads (in case of great losses). But it is quite logical! Why should a common player do not like Wesnoth RNG when it provides...

Re: A Whim of Fate [SP Campaign]

Thank you much for the feeback and replays! It is always hard to get a feedback for an addon-maker. Often only bugs force a people to contact an author, as was in your case, but my campaign had not much bags because the code is relatively simple. Concerning replays, as you said, you do not hesitate ...

Re: A Whim of Fate [SP Campaign]

I am downloading the update right now. But what type of feedback do you want to receive? I mostly just save loop to get through any situation, so the way I play might be unproductive for the developers. Oh, just any feeling you have about the campaign. What did you like most and what you did not li...

Re: A Whim of Fate [SP Campaign]

Hello, I am quite new to the forum as I only visit the place occasionally. First of all, I would like to say that I have been having a blast playing through this campaign and is now currently at the first part of chapter 3. However, I get the message "unknown unit type: Solaevin silver mage" and co...

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much

Do you think that solutions I mentioned don't solve the problem? As I understood, "No randomness mod" is the only case which is not shifts the balance. No randomness at all still seems a bit to much to me however. The problem is not solved at least until players get directly informed in the game th...

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much

2 sergey What I am doing is not complaining but publishing my thoughts while trying to understand an essence of the problem. I like thinking. I personally do not have problems with Wesnoth RNG and can easely play it with current system without frustration. Yet I changed my mind and think now that pe...

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much

Google may be great but it's not the final authority. Searching for "Wesnoth RNG" and saying, "See! Lots of hits!" means nothing. Of course you don't see the complaints about other games. Quite simply, nobody on those other games mentions Wesnoth. The fact you didn't ask to see them, does not mean ...

Re: Poll: Do you reload usually if you lost your valuable high-level unit because of a strike of unluck?

My answer to the question is "it depends, but usually I don't reload". I have posted some of my replays to the forums and there are examples when I lost a loyal unit or a unit with an artifact. Well, such behavior deserves respect. Few would do that. Especially if you play a really hard campaign. I...

Re: Poll: Do you reload usually if you lost your valuable high-level unit because of a strike of unluck?

Voted no. I reload when I lose an important unit due to poor placement (i.e., maybe I didn't see an enemy unit, or I forgot to check enemy's mp and though it wouldn't reach me). When I reload, I adjust my strategy, so it's not like I'm reloading the same thing until rng swings my way. In general, I...

Re: Poll: Do you reload usually if you lost your valuable high-level unit because of a strike of unluck?

I feel your poll is missing the point. It doesn't address the idea of 'save-scumming' at all. How does it differentiate between people who reload until the dice go their way and those who reload and try a different strategy? (E.g. I'm voting yes because losing that unit usually shows me that I made...

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much

Repeating the same sentence a bunch of times doesn't make it any more true. Googling X and finding lots of results for it is cherry picking. I'd have no issue with the premise that people mostly dislike Wesnoth's rng if you backed it up by something more than "I assure you..." in every other post. ...
