Re: Very interesting talk on Random Number Generators
it would allow people to choose how likely it is to get particularly good or bad results? Basically yes - it could be described as a setting to make combat more or less 'chaotic' :hmm: it would definitely have to be an off-by-default option somewhere in the preferences dialog, separate from difficu...

Re: Official Steam Greenlight discussion thread
Congrats. Once someone from Valve reviewed it, they said "WTF, this wasn't on Steam already?!? Are you kidding me??? APPROVED."

Re: Official Steam Greenlight discussion thread
This is great. As I said in the Steam comment thread, I can't imagine a more obvious rubber stamp approval.
It is my duty now, as always, to mention the need for gamepad support, which, with the exposure granted by Steam, is now more important than ever to reaching the widest audience possible.

Re: Getting Started
I'm not a developer. As such I apologize for taking up space here, but I have to add something which I think was overlooked in the call for help, but which I consider very important to generate broader appeal and thus exposure for the game : gamepad support. As far as I can tell, gamepad support is ...

Re: Gamepad/Joystick support seems not to work at all
Understandable. I know how interests fluctuate over time, and Wesnoth is ultimately a labor of love. After I didn't get a response, I just wanted to justify the concern and raise awareness a bit by following up on it. In any case, I'm certain improved gamepad support will inevitably come, be it in m...

Re: Gamepad/Joystick support seems not to work at all
Can I at least get confirmation that gamepad support is not functional in 1.10.7? I'm of the opinion that gamepad support for Wesnoth should continue to be developed and polished (as a reasonably high priority) for two primary reasons: 1) The increasing popularity of HTPC-based gamepad-driven PC gam...

Gamepad/Joystick support seems not to work at all
I realize gamepad/joystick support may be experimental at the moment as it's hidden from advanced configuration by default, but it seems it doesn't work at all anymore. If this was intentional, I would think it wouldn't be only hidden from advanced configuration by default, but removed all together....

Re: Gamepad/Joystick support
The topic post makes mention of the dinput/xinput switch on the F510, and says "Windows mode" (DirectInput) doesn't work at all in Linux. This suggests to me by omission that it is supposed to work in Windows? I don't see anything to specify dinput vs xinput in the advanced configuration f...
