Re: Simple HTML5 Wesnoth implementation
Don't make my mistake, please start using pixi.js as early as possible. It gives you the power of WebGL, so your 2d game will run draw much faster, and it will allow you to use GL effects for things like fog of war.

Re: [DIY] making html5 wesnoth-themed roguelike
I think there is a misunderstanding here -- GPL certainly does not prohibit the selling of the content. Ah, okay then. Voids my previous statement, I guess. ps: I still think that MIT license is waaay more open in a sense that it allows to do anything you like with the subject. Currently, having ju...

Re: [DIY] making html5 wesnoth-themed roguelike
Which vcs and which code hosting are you using then? SVN locally (or nothing at all when refactoring, hehe). Got used to it since it worked better than anything else for large projects I was involved with. I do not use any external hosting at all. IndieDB hosts releases for free, and those "bi...

Re: [DIY] making html5 wesnoth-themed roguelike
Isn`t it already on github? https://github.com/optimouser/wessense I do not use git in my development and will not maintain a github account just for W.Essense. But, yes, optimouser uploaded source code to github - see his earlier posts in this thread. Be warned, though: game code was ugly, and is ...

Re: Music for the Wesnoth-inspired roguelike game
Hmm.. I have checked UMC collections. For a hack'n'slash kind of a roguelike game, I need something moderately fast-paced like "In the Land of Madness" or "One Thousand Suns", by Tyler Johnson, but I am hesitating to use it because of an old post found deep in the archives: Hi gu...

Re: Music for the Wesnoth-inspired roguelike game
I see "UMC Music Book N" in the list of Addons - that's what you suggested, right? Will investigate..
Thanks!

Music for the Wesnoth-inspired roguelike game
Hello All, I am working on the Wesnoth-inspired roguelike game ( https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=40803 ), and it is at the stage where game itself is pretty much complete but lacking music completely. Since my game is using graphics from Wesnoth, it makes sense to borrow music fr...

Re: [DIY] making html5 wesnoth-themed roguelike
W.Essense v0.95a could be downloaded for free from IndieDB website: http://www.indiedb.com/games/wessense/downloads ( Win 32/64, Linux 32/64 ) In v0.95a there were plenty of changes: - now, monsters have levels 1..25, so it is easier to understand how they match to the player - autosave every 25 tur...

Re: [DIY] making html5 wesnoth-themed roguelike
Website went south, yes :( I do not have much time to develop this game, but I do update it from time to time - just for myself. It is at v0.95a now. In v0.95a there were plenty of changes: - autosave every 25 turns (resurrection has been dropped for good); - "chance to hit" added (really ...

Re: [DIY] making html5 wesnoth-themed roguelike
Howdy. Long time, no see.. W.Essense development has slowed to a crawl. But, new architecture is coming, and map editor is confirmed. Here is a very early preview: http://wessense.org/editor/0.1/ Takes some time to load, so give it a minute. Select tile/terrain/object from columns to the right, then...
