Re: Let's Play After the Storm

Great humor as usual! I'd list some of the highlights, but this time there are too many to count, which is certainly a welcome change of pace from the previous large scale battles, where 80%+ of the commentary was mostly gameplay-focused.

Re: To Lands Unknown 3.1.1 - a new gameplay mode!

I saw "New gameplay mode" and got very curious. But the first level itself is very different than the last time I played it. I guess it would be the original first level with carpets and normal novice summoners vs the mysterious air mage. The original first level is still there, except now it is no...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown 2.1.0 [Wesnoth 1.14]

It doesn’t increase melee damage in this version of the tree, only HP (by 4). My bad, I meant HP instead of damage. I’m ruling out c (Elynia isn’t a mele-focused unit, so giving her melee-based specials would be weird) and a (6 HP would be okay, but 7 seems excessive) and b (see the justification f...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown 2.1.0 [Wesnoth 1.14]

It is certainly better than the previous AMLA tree, but I'd like to propose a slight revision of the strength upgrade: Strength I: same as in your post Strength II: still +1 melee strike, but only +2 damage (after all, an extra strike is a pretty big deal) Strength III: I think it would be better as...

Re: ForestDragon's WML questions

You don't need to know. That's what the documentation is for. I didn't know this key existed either until I saw your question and looked at the standard unit filter keys. :eng: The point is that before you post a question to the forum, you should at least take a look at the relevant documentation f...

(I don't belive it's worth re-uploading the picture though)
In that case, you could upload it along with whatever future sprite you draw.

Did you look at the standard unit filter tags? There is "ability_type_active". Or did you try that already?
Haven't seen it yet. (I didn't really have much knowledge of the many great WML additions of the 1.13.x/1.14.x versions) Thanks!

Re: ForestDragon's WML questions

Question; how to filter hidden units with [filter_wml] or the like? by hidden, I mean when a [hides] ability is active on a unit. (I basically need a way to exclude hidden units in a filter)

it's not that bad :) better leave it, maybe somebody can pick it up and remake.. less work than making it from scratch, just make version 0.x.x to show it's not functional... my opinion. As far as I remember it's partly working, so it's at least fun to try.
ok.

Re: ghype's Daily Art #50 - Portraits

OK so it has been some time. I will now post some of my Franken Portraits. DISCLAIMER: these are far from being as good as my sprites. in fact, I think most of them are quality wise bad, but they are as good as I could make them. that doesn't mean that there aren't any goods between them. The portr...

Maybe you should remove it then
Do you mean the add-on? Yeah, that's actually a good idea. I suppose I might reupload it once it's not an unplayable mess.

Re: Making a browser version of wesnoth?

Like you contributing with add-ons like diplomacy mod which just doesn't work and could be named as just one big bug? And then you say "oh i know it doesnt work, but i dont really care. Just was a nice idea to have it." I think you would be the last person to convince somebody not to do something k...

Re: Making a browser version of wesnoth?

No worries, I don't mind. Constructive criticism and a dose of skepticism is healthy. :) ok. - especially among more casual folks, downloading/installing a game might already be an undesired step. Those might be more inclined to just "try it out" in the browser. That might actually be a good idea, ...

I just have one doubt: on both sprites, there are machinegunners that are not at the same scale as the regular sprites. Do you think I should rather remove them for consistency ?
I think they should stay the way they are, to emphasize the add-on's unique unit scale.

Re: Nenau's sprites, needing advice

This one looks great! Good job with the shading! :) Besides that, I don't really have much to say at the moment.
