Re: A Wesnoth API for other games
That's some really good food for thought; though you're correct about the misunderstanding -- I'm interested in making an API, for host games to use wesnoth to decide the outcome of just the battles : consider how the Total War series has real-time tactical battles jointly with turn-based strategy -...

A Wesnoth API for other games
Consider the open-source ecosystem's many turn-based strategy wargames -- they're great, I'm not gonna launch into a discussion of all their merits and faults, but what're they all missing? Wesnoth. FreeCiv and TripleA jump immediately to mind -- you send units around doing strategical things, but t...

Re: Introducing WesMod -- The Wesnoth Modern/Total Modificat
... <Obligatory voice of reason> Although cool, altogether that's getting very wide in scope. I'd say it would be a much better idea to stick to wesnoth's standard tactical interface instead of a two-level strategic/tactical system. That does raise an interesting (and quite OT) idea though -- what ...

Re: Let's Play "Liberty"
It's been a while since I've read a good AAR. Yours is definitely turning out to be one -- well-written, very insightful. So it strikes me a bit odd that you prefer to skimp on the endings of scenarios. I'd guess so far that's just because there aren't any tactical insights to be gained?

Re: Trolls
... I'm not sure if the current description needs to be added to, but regardless, that'd be good stuff to talk about in a campaign for example. I agree that the description shouldn't be affected by what we decide here -- after all, it reflects general in-universe knowledge, and who is to say even t...

Re: Trolls
Necromantisfying because I'd like to see this interesting discussion continue, and it seems there's quite a bit left open. In terms of more or less everything here (apart from the physiology issue, as I haven't come up with anything even satisfactorily self-consistent yet) I'll throw my lot in with ...

Re: Some call me ... Tim?
Some call me moopli. Others call me Felippe. I'm not sure why, my name isn't Felippe, but a very particular few do. Anyway, I've been playing Wesnoth sporadically for a few years, and I've dabbled with WML, making units, scenarios, etc. I've recently started studying the source code -- what with my ...
