Re: Auction X gold balance

If the mid player sends the troops to all directions, then it can be fun of course. But if it's played optimally, then yes, one or two sides will suffer and have almost no chance at all, while the others will have nothing to do early on. In my opinion, when talking about a map's balance, it should b...

Re: Age of Heroes balance.

It would be hard to judge these changes specifically, but i definitely support the idea of some balance over level 2. The most important thing for AoH in my opinion is to encourage players to mix level 1 and level 2 units. If balanced with care, that would open a whole new level of opportunities and...

Re: Auction X gold balance

I can see that the map originally was intended for 5 players. In practice though, about 95% of the time it's 4 human players and an AI. So maybe the starting gold should finally adapt to that fact. A smart human player on the mid would just overrun 2 or 3 sides at the same time and send nothing agai...

Re: let us rant about those nonsense

Is there even any canon example in campaigns or wherever where a WM healed an Undead or even fought on the same side? I don"t think for example a multiplayer 2v2 game is meant to make sense canon wise. Just think about it, two sides fighting on a symmetrical field, i don't believe those maps were ev...

Re: Players are not interested in competitive?

In my opinion, if you put real effort in it, you can become at the very least quite decent after a few months.

Re: Gonna post an unpopular opinion...

It has its pros and cons. It's badly balanced and has lots of ways to abuse that. On the other hand it's not as time consuming as other maps and relatively easy to learn. It's good casual fun, as long as it's not taken too seriously. If you want to test your skills, go elsewhere. If you just want a ...

Re: World Conquest II

In the Rebels+Northerners alliance i would rather see Grunt paired with Fighter and Troll with Wose. Grunt+Wose and Troll+Fighter just seems meh and to be honest this faction is already one of the weaker ones.

Re: Rogue balancing

Nothing beats Dwarvish Fighters and Spearmen when it comes to how much they gain from a level up, also considering how difficult it is to get there. (Some drakes might come close.) Rogue, while a good unit, is extremely vulnerable to pretty much every opponent. It's one of the level 2s with the shor...

Re: World Conquest II

I only experienced it in the 1p version. Never had any problems of that nature in 2p and definitely not in 3p.

Re: World Conquest II

I recently played 1p. Strangely i had the same experience. I struggled on the first and second scenarios due to the map being small. Loyalists with horsemen and mages and drakes in general are especially hard to deal with. On the other hand, once i got through the first two, the third and the fourth...

Re: Which faction do you think is the most difficult to play?

To me, Knalgans are the hardest to get right. They mostly require different unit compositions against other factions, so i struggle to make a good initial recruit against random. Undead is kind of an offensive faction so of course they'll perform poorly in defense. Though they can be quite tough to ...

Re: Main Factions Balance

That opinion of mine is 4 years old. Right now, i don't agree with myself at all in most points, matchup in question included.
I just started to discover high level 1v1 back then and i didn't have half the skill or knowledge i have now.

Re: Imbalanced matchups

I'd like to point out that i wrote that more than 4 years ago. My opinion changed quite a lot since that and looking back at that time, i wouldn't even consider myself an expert at that point.

Re: Unit genders

I accidentally stumbled upon this thread. And all i got to say to the last comment is YES! It always kinda bothered me how the high and mighty elves rely on human mages. When we say "elves" what comes to our mind? Forests, archery, pointy ears and... magic of course, at least for me. Elvish Shaman j...
