Re: How to decide if you will win if it goes late (1v1)
I'm also not a fantastic player, but I believe I can weigh in with some input from what I've seen around here and my own experiences. In the OP you mention 'stylistic' choice of attacking with/against time of power. This depends largely on terrain and overall outlook, however, and isn't something th...

Re: Units you dread fighting against
In general, most of the northerners are really rotten to see. Cheap, bulky units that just so happen to recover every turn? Or maybe you'd prefer to be poisoned and then surrounded by useless goblins? From other factions it's not quite so bad, but still. Great, a dwarven guardsman has advanced over...

Re: Units you dread fighting against
Ugh, that one mission in DiD with the pillagers gave me a lot of reason to hate them. So much worse without DAs around to actually hurt them! Otherwise if I'm playing Undead, the wose. It crushes everything , such a pain to get rid of. In general, most of the northerners are really rotten to see. Ch...

Re: What do you find to be the worst unit in the default era
Footpad really sucks. I don't know when they changed it to level 1 (or did I just imagine that?), but it's not that great. As a scout it's subpar, and on offense it's a last resort. Every other faction does better with scouts, be it level 0 units or combat useful-ones. Why do the Knalgans get stuck ...

Re: Attacking at favorable time of day
Depends on how your opponent plays. Typically I notice it is one of two styles: they retreat as their time of weakness grows, or it's a relative standstill on all fronts with nobody wanting to walk into no man's land. If it's the first, you're in luck - attack them early. It may seem like a bad idea...

Can I be only half-banned? I've got a hot date coming over, and I want to look good.

Re: The Stolen Sword (Drake Campaign for Beginners)
I like the idea, but what Chris says also seems fitting. I haven't encountered any difficulties yet on my own (easy mode, but never used Drakes much before). I'd like to suggest a change to scenario 3; when I played it, the Naga leader went north to the open village, but that put him in trapping ran...

Re: You think a faction is overpowered? Come here!
Theoretically yes, but I think it's quite possible for a faction to be overpowered with 'lucky' conditions easily (not that I think this is the case) and still not be noticed, because unless you are playing (and reviewing) so many many matches on your own, then you might not notice the differences. ...

Re: The Dark Hordes rise from the dead....again
I decided to try this campaign out - kind of on a kick for Undead still. I'm only three scenarios in so far, but I have to ask; why such massive empty environment? It kind of made sense for the first, as a intro to a strange new land (with a hidden troll to KO anyone who noticed the walkers...), but...

Picked up White 2 today, about to see how fifth gen goes. Also got a headset, so I can truly experience the 'joys' of online multiplayer.

Re: Do you save and reload? If so, why?
I am starting to think, however, that my main issue is that I just suck at Wesnoth heh- maybe I'm just a button smasher after all... Skill at Wesnoth has nothing to do with the impotent rage after showering a unit with several mild attacks to weaken it enough for your Shaman to kill it, and then mi...

Re: Immune to poison
You'll find the trait undead listed under the undead units' names in the field (beside fearless usually, to show it's a trait if you're just skimming around), though traits aren't linked in the unit description.

Re: Do you save and reload? If so, why?
Rarely I save before trying risky or unpredictable maneuvers, just to see how they turn out - like before sending a non-main unit to an item in DW, I reloaded and just sent the leader instead. I used to reload for bad rolls, but to a point it matters more about terrain and placement, so I would rath...
