Re: [mainline] Undead trait and healing
As for the skeleton being held together by dark magic and such, they can be busted up by a mace easily enough. It is clear that actual, physical damage to their actual, physical bones hurts them. Why, exactly, can't mending physical damage somehow be what healers do? Well, obviously doing physical ...

Re: Are Halflings/Hobbits in the world of Wesnoth?
Neat. I obviously didn't know about that, but I actually drew up a rough draft of a potential Halfling faction (I do this a lot, I could fill a book with all the ideas I've made over a great number of topics and games) because I rediscovered an old gem, Age of Wonders, and it has a Halfling faction ...

Are Halflings/Hobbits in the world of Wesnoth?
Just wondering. We have Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Drakes, Humans, Lizard Men and Ghosts and Goblins, but what about the other fantasy races? Are they just not native to the area of Wesnoth, and they exist elsewhere on the planet, or are those five races + 1 sub race + the unliving the only canon populat...

Re: [mainline] Undead trait and healing
The only thing limiting what a skeleton can or can't do is magic. A skeleton is held together with dark magic, it is harmed by light or arcane magic. Arcane magic is the same type of magic White Mages use to heal living creatures. This of course means Undead should be UNhealed by being adjacent to W...

Re: Movies discussion
Ah, I'm not sure if this counts as thread necromancy just yet, but it seems like the place to post. I'm rather excited for Iron Man 3. I loved the first one and the second was was... alright, I suppose. Not a bad movie, but it certainly wasn't as good as the first in my humble opinion. And, is it ju...

Probably fleeing in the opposite directing. Or hiding.
Both.
Italians weren't known for their morale and bravery in the face of danger. Who can blame em, it's not like they really wanted to fight.

Re: Battle for Westfront *0.5.2 released*
I gotta say, you make some fantastic sprites. I tried making sprites for a faction I'm creating, but well....suffice to say my skills are highly lacking. Everything works well, but it's annoying for planes to be attacked by AT Guns, even if they only do 1 damage per hit. I'm not sure if you could co...

Re: New Ability Sworddance
Or, here's another idea. An attack that when used offensively presses combat until the loses a certain percentage of it's max HP? Limit it to 5 or 10 rounds max, but end early if, say, once 50% or more of it's max HP is lost? Or maybe 40%? Say a unit with 50 HP uses the attack. If he takes 25 damage...

Re: New Ability Sworddance
I think I'm simply going to give the Bladesman two attacks, a 7-4 blade and a 3-7 blade. I don't want him to be a berserker because he's not. It's why I called it sworddance, it's supposed to be a graceful flurry of strikes that overwhelm a target's defenses. Of course..if the unit's strong that buf...

Re: New Ability Sworddance
Hm. Well let me first off start by saying I've been working on this since last year. The unit tree has gone through several reworks and variations, and I keep playing with the numbers trying to make it balanced. The swordsman is giving me the most trouble, as they are a Lawful faction day/night affe...

Re: New Ability Sworddance
I'm designing my faction to be playable against the default factions, and...well adding another unit to the Regualr's development pat might be a tad overkill. The Regular can become a frail, quick backstabbing skirmisher with poison, a Bladesman, a steadfast swordsman with arcane ranged that doesn't...

New Ability Sworddance
Hello, I am attempting to create a faction and am wonderig if an ability I have in mind, Sworddance, fits in well for balancing? Sworddance would either act as a tamer version of Berserk (I'm thinking 3-5 rounds of combat, I want it to seem like a controlled assault, imagine a man literally spinning...

Re: LordBob's commissionned work
I really like his battle stance. It looks perfectly fine to me.
Well whatever you do I'm sure it will look good. I'm waiting for all the new HttT artwork to be put in before I replay it, in the meantime I'll just play through all the other campains on Nightmare.

Re: [mainline] Troops and Heros
Welcome to Wesnoth, here game development goes by the KISS principle. (Keep It Simple Stupid) Maximum fun, minimal learning curve. That said, Wesnoth is VERY customizable. If you have programming skill it could be possible to do something similar with the engine, though you'd need to be very skilled...
