Re: Balance changes for 1.18

I don't understand how people can voice opinions about these changes when the motivation or rationale for them is not explained in the OP. What was the process here? What was happening with the gameplay that required a massive rebalance? Is it following some earlier set of changes which should in hi...

Recent mass-rebalancing

In recent releases - namely, 7.16 - 7.20 - a huge number of units from all faction have been rebalanced: Damage, cost, XP and sometimes other stats like resistance and HP. Can someone explain, or link to an explanation of, the motivation for this mass rebalancing? And perhaps give some qualitative i...

A link to an explanation of what these achievements are would be useful.

conquest+ as a game mode.
Perhaps you could remind us less-experienced users what "Conquest+" was?

Re: Interaction of Quick with Strong and Resilient

@max_torch: But it's not like in Genetics. It's English language text.

Also - there is no subtle diversity. If diversity was the issue, HP would be randomized given traits... and the "+1 HP" part of traits would be basically meaningless.

Re: Interaction of Quick with Strong and Resilient

As I've just filed this as an issue , and got referred here - can someone please explain: 1. Why it makes sense, linguistically and vis-a-vis the player, for a "Resilient, Quick" unit to be any different than a "Quick, Resilient" unit? 2. What was the purpose or benefit in choosi...

Re: [Idea] Customize campaigns on an ad-hoc basis

I assume this would mostly disrupt the balance the campaign author intended. The choice of units and their abilities - and more than that, the balance between different units in the same faction and in rival factions - is critical for controlling how a scenario will unfold. Of course - I could be wr...

Re: [Poll] Recall List Compositions for Long SP Campaigns

I don't understand the poll nor how the different options relate. What do you mean by "prefer"? Prefer for more challenging campaigns? For easier play? For randomization/replayability? Anyway, most of the options you mention are for the campaign author to control. Some of the mainline camp...

Re: top 10 best units

There is only one unit in my top 10, of course: The peasant . We are the backbone of society, backbone of the economy. We work for all, we feed all (well, in lieu of an industrial working class in Irdya). And sometimes, we might just rise in revolt. Grr! https://i.imgur.com/yB6IhzF.jpg Honorable men...

Re: Scenario Review: DiD 3 - A Haunting in Winter

The scenario name should be changed. The "winter" part is barely a factor, except for a couple of hexes; and while there is a ghost at the end, it is not haunting anywhere/anyone. I like the "reflection pool" scene. There are things I didn't get, such as what to do with the remai...

A scout is ok in that situation too - and more likely to make it to the stranded troll with the extra movement point :P

Re: Thunderers vs Scouts

@gnombat: You write "almost always". When do you find Thunderers useful?

@Lord-Knightmare: In the campaign strategy you describe, you still invest in ranking up two Dragonguards. So, same question: What do you use them for?

Thunderers vs Scouts

I am playing a Dwarf faction in a campaign. I'm scratching my head wondering if I should "invest" in Thunderers at all. For an inexperienced Knalgan such as myself, they are of limited use: * Maximum variance in their attack damage - just 1 shot. * Pierce damage type - not useful unless I'...
