Re: Mystic economy in Under the Burning Suns

Cen7: Oh, I didn't notice "formation" stacks!

... but - scenario 3 does have a turn limit, so I'm not sure what you mean.

Please update the wiki page on game music

This page:

https://wiki.wesnoth.org/Available_Music

seems to be somewhat out of date, with links to forum threads from over 10 years ago, and at least one dead link to a file. Can the "music people" update it? (Or - remove it if it's irrelevant?)

Re: Mystic economy in Under the Burning Suns

@Cen7: Who is Yuni? I haven't gotten a Yuni... I think. There's the loyal Zhul, maybe you mean her? Also, the Sun Sylphs only heal +4 - which isn't that significant. Their healing doesn't stack, does it? Anyway, I see your point about the firepower. And I suppose they have decent HP at L3. And they ...

Re: Sepulchre of Elran SP scenario for Wesnoth 1.13.5 and later

There's a bug with this scenario, running on Wesnoth 1.15.3; see attached screenshot. It's "attempt to compare nil with number".

I stat seeing this on turn 2 or 3, and then occasionally later on, though I can't quite pinpoint under what conditions.

Re: Mystic economy in Under the Burning Suns

Didn't get any suggestions about mystic recruitment and advancement until well after I've finished the campaign :-(

How many turns should I expect to last in "A New Land"?

[minor spoilers...] In The Rise of Wesnoth, there's a scenario named A New Land, where the goal is to survive with no deaths - neither to you nor the enemy - for as many turns as possible. I'm playing on Medium difficulty, and have a few questions: 1. About what number of turns I could expect potent...

@cotalot: Ah, could be that I somehow missed that. Must be going senile.

TRoW sewer level - units don't heal in cave villages

I'm playing The Rise of Wesnoth, on Medium difficulty, with Wesnoth 1.15.3 on Linux. In "The Sewers of Southbay", you start out in a cave area with some villages. However, when you place units on villages - they don't heal. Is this intentional, or is it a bug? If it's not a bug, I would expect to be...

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

I think that javelineers are basically a defensive anti-cavalry unit that is interesting to have against loyalist and is mostly for multiplayer games, not campaign. In my opinion, that would not make sense as a justification for Javelineers: 1. Mainline faction units are for use both in campaigns a...

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

- Orcish Nightblade Nitpick: That's rarely/never available as an advancement from Orcish Slayer. More significantly, though, I think you're putting too much emphasis on _only_ the damage stats in choosing Javelineers; remember HP, resistance and movement are also significant. Now, the Javelineer is...

Re: When are Javelineers useful?

If I was rebalancing the game, I'd give Javelineers skirmisher and ranged marksmen to give them a role in hunting down low-health enemies. Javelineers wear armor, wield a large weapon, and carry additional large weapons (the javelins/extra spears). They can't be skirmishers. Also, you don't get to ...

Re: Under the Burning Suns - who should get the speed ring?

In hindsight, I would suggest Kaleh, Nym or Zhul. Odd or even - they need to do the most moving-around between different places in a level, to heal or grant leadership. The Dust Devil's mobility is good enough, and it's also great at waiting where other units won't pick on it, so it's not meaningful...

Re: Mystic economy in Under the Burning Suns

If 40%->30% hit rate is huge, than cutting the damage by half is humungous. And unlike the reduction of hit rate, that reduces the _maximum_ damage, making the enemy unit's effect next turn more predictable. And of course, prevents fast movement.

The Elvish Shaman Slow's its enemy with her spider-web. Now that's powerful and useful.
