Re: My Terrain (Mine!)
Just wanna say that there is a lot of awesomeness floating around in this thread. :) Everything is looking really cool. Small nitpick because I'm a pretentious art history geek: the shape and volume of the ionic capital looks a little odd to me. These references might help if you feel like making su...

Re: Loyalists
Stopping in briefly to post a small update -- keyframes for the standing animation. It'll stop looking like he's sneezing or belly dancing after I add the in-betweens, I swear. In particular, the motion should look a lot more circular than it does right now. I've been using Sleepwalker's pixel wizar...

Re: Loyalists
I was planning on giving the defense animation one more pass to clean stuff up (the one frame still doesn't have shading on the sword for example); I'll attach the transparent frames then so you don't have to. :) Doofus, Adamant, thanks! That's reassuring to hear. Hoping to be back soon with more co...

Re: Standing and idle animations?
I don't have anything very useful to say other than looks very good! It would be awesome to see animations on all the horsemen.

Re: Loyalists
Hey, long time no see! Aquileia kindly reminded me ages ago that I should finish Swordsman stuff, and today I polished the attack frames a bit. Crossing my fingers that no one thinks the changes are a step backwards. If these are good to go for commit, I attached the transparent frames too. I'm not ...

Re: Amorphous's Pixel Art
Finished this guy not too long ago. Just want to reiterate thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on him! It's probably one of the dumbest, most convoluted and long sprite projects ever for such a small size, but I learned a ton, so it was worth it (I think). http://i.imgur.com/kF1i0z8.png Might p...

Re: Lordbob's commissionned work: UtBS
I will soon become a father (birth is expected within the next 3 weeks) so I am anticipating a mandatory period of chaotic adjustment to this new lifestyle. !!! Heeyy, congratulations! That's awesome; good luck with everything! Calling it now, your kid's going to be a master artist and BfW tactician.

Re: Loyalists
Looking great! This is looking very good. :) Thanks, both of you. Good point, aquileia, and good catch, too. That's exactly the kind of thing that my brain stops seeing after staring at a sprite for a while. :) I made an adjustment that hopefully accounts for that and did more minor tweak...

Re: Loyalists
*Four months later* Sorry about that! School's out, so I've got more time at the moment, and I'm hoping to finish up with the Swordsman's attack within the week. Right now, the two things I'm worried about are consistency of shading/proportions and jerkiness of motion. I need to take a break f...

Re: Loyalists
Huzzah, I'm back -- and I swear this project isn't dead! Scrambling to reach deadlines has left me without much time for drawing, but even if I go at a snail's pace, I'm committed to getting some of these things into the game. :9 Okay, finally got around to fiddling with the Javelineer. He's in a se...

Re: Loyalists
Sorry, I'm short on time so I can't make a proper reply right now. I edited attack animation and since vultraz reminded me also messed around with the base frame in the hopes of finalizing it -- is the stance moving in the right direction or no? In fact, it makes me want to pick up animating again.....

Re: Loyalists
Ugh, sorry for the slow reply, everyone. Thanks again for leaving feedback. :eng: [...] And even if it would look a little off in game, it's really just slightly tweaking the timing. That makes sense, and it's bothering me a lot less with this latest animation, anyway. Thanks, aquileia. :) It might ...

Re: Loyalists
Hey again! I've been working on the Swordsman attack animation. The motion is more fluid now, but I'm afraid its lost some of the "snap" of the last iteration. :hmm: Might just be a matter of changing the timing. Thoughts about this or any other problems before I go into shading? @Dixie an...

Re: Loyalists
Woah, thanks a ton for the comments and encouragement, everyone. :) Trying to go through these one by one. . . . @beetlenaut et al: The arm definitely looks wacky. Thanks both for your edits, Tom and Crow; I looked at your takes while fiddling with it. Can't tell if the latest version is much better...

Loyalists
So my understanding about the current status of the Loyalist sprites is this: several updated and vastly improved bases have been more or less finished for over three years now, but, for want of animations, they haven't been implemented. In order to rectify this, I've been tinkering with some sprite...
