Re: Change village on minimap
While it has been a while since I have actually played Wesnoth, I do recall having a problem in distinguishing between units and villages. One thing I try and do at the start of every level is scan the map for villages and enemies, which becomes rather difficult if at first glance I can't tell the u...

[Mainline] Delfador's unit's level is too high for his stats
Preamble When comparing unit's stats, the Elder Mage's HP (60) and Damage output (both his Melee and Ranged attacks 8-2 and 14-4) are lower than the Great Mage's [acronym=or as the french presumably say "La Hitpoints"]HP[/acronym] (65) and Attack stats (Melee 9-2 blunt; Ranged 16-4 fire) ...

Re: [mainline] Soulless is crap
It would be illogical for Souless to have berserk, soulless are one of the few undead units that wear t-shirts.Crow_T wrote:Thinking about this today, it could be interesting is souless had berserk, like a proper zombie should. When you think of zombies they either kill or die, they are relentless.

Skeleton Archers: Undead
Reasoning: The trait grants them poison immunity which makes them useful for countering Assassins. All the alternatives are just not worth having on my Skeleton Archers, because there are no alternatives.

= As a side note: I know the human race description includes the Clansmen, but I can't for the life of me think of where they appear in mainline. The Clansmen appear in the penultimate mission of the Heir To The Throne Campaign, where Conrad must impress them into his forces by slaying a great many...

Shame this topic hasn't been posted in for a while. I might have to start posting original thoughts... Orcish Longboats. The Orcs aren't known for their seamenship, and with good reason. A nomadic folk who mostly dwell at far inland mountain-ranges has seldom oppourtunities to display their nautical...

Re: How autonomous/intelligent are individual undead?
DiD has a huge problem with that wraith there. There's just nobody present who Malin could speak or interact with. The wraith feels like a mistake to me, it would be better to rewrite the thing to not need him. Malin commands the wraith with his voice to kill him even though he should be controllin...

Re: Wesnoth population
@orcs: There is no reason to make orcs "hunters/gatherers" only. Even in LotR orcs have bread and Wesnoth orcs are generally more civilized. It's pretty well established that orcs do not have agriculture of any kind. This is part of what makes them such a blight on the world. When there i...

Re: [interface] Average defense rating across terrains when
this information is available if you click on profile. defense ratings and movement costs are defined by the units movement type. 80% of all units share ~10 different move types like e.g. smallfoot, elusivefoot or mounted. it would certainly help if the movements name would be displayed somewhere. ...

Singular words are that important. I personally, lean on the "currently discovered" side of the fence. I reckon it gives feeling that the player still has much more to find out, and that if he looks hard enough, the encyclopaedia may be more and more filled in a rewarding effort of explora...

Re: Inky's Quest - The Cuttlefish Campaign
Your campaign has ink breathing cuttlefish, I think it shouldn't be too hard to justify the fire-breathing kind.
How about the cuttlefish ignite the ink on impact? Too implausible?

On the issue of the price-bug for some of the items for sale, I can admit that I was hoping that you no one else would notice it, so that I would be free to abuse it in future. But to be more specific on which items are for free, it is the shop that sells the boots, and the anti-cold-coats which hav...

I think I've got 3 idioms to add to the list. 1. "Drown/Sink or burn" :, as in "A drown or burn situation" Definition: A dilemma that once concluded, regardless of which choice is taken, results in more or less identical unpleasant circumstances. Etymology : During the witch-tria...

But she wouldn't know the moral, because she was in the competition before the moral was made. The moral was not to be too arrogant and think that you're better than the gods. Before the competition, and many times during it, Athena warned her. She just refused to learn the lesson and so she paid t...

Re: Do you find snow annoying, or beautiful?(both?)
How do I find snow? As an Australian, I don't find snow at all. Well, except for that one time when I went to the Snowy Mountains for my school's ski camp. That time I found it to be a bit beautiful, although on the third day (the frost) I spent most of the time trying to warm my hands against a blo...
