Re: What do YOU want to see improved?

I voted for the improving the UI and mainline campaign quality. I'm regretting the mainline campaign vote a little bit, just because I think there are more important things to improve, like the AI. Anyway, about the UI and GUI. I don't think there's anything terribly wrong with the UI, but it defini...

Re: Games discussion

It's been a while since I've been on these forums, and I've stopped playing Wesnoth for three reasons: 1. Minecraft (not so much anymore) 2. Steam & Steam Sales 3. Humble Bundle Kind of a love/hate thing with Steam and the Humble Bundle. I love getting cheap, good games, but I was kind of hoping...

I don't think we ever talked, but in any case, good luck, and thanks for having an avatar that made me laugh.

Re: Level 9 Technomancer vs. Ubuntu blues

First of all, you should really upgrade your version of Ubuntu, or switch to a different distro. An old version like Lucid Lynx will make it harder to get the latest versions of Wesnoth. It's not totally required, but it may make your life easier. You can browse and download .deb files from http://p...

Re: Make a unit type "Hold" a variable(s)?

Yeah, I geuss I could. How would I check the unit type? From a single unit filter variable, or would I have to store the unit?

Re: Wesnoth wont start up

OK. First, open a command prompt. I believe you can do this by pressing Windows Key+R, then typing cmd and pressing enter. Next, cd into the install directory. If you installed with default settings, you should type "cd C:\Program Files\The Battle for Wesnoth\", then press enter. Then type...

Make a unit type "Hold" a variable(s)?

Is there any way to make a unit "hold" a variable, so that e.g., when it is killed the results of an event is determined by the variable? I'm thinking about making an RPG where the unit can drop an item when it dies, and I want the items to be by type.

Thanks, Uncleshelby

Re: What Operating System do You Use?

I've never really gotten into Linux before this, and I'm finding that I actually like it a lot more than I thought I would. Especially since Linux and OS X share the same UNIX roots, which means I don't have to relearn all the terminal commands. That's a huge plus from my vantage point. I still hav...
