Re: My view on RNG

I know that no matter how many numbers are used, it can be reduced to a single value. It does change the chance when more numbers are used, however. Normally a 99% chance would miss 1 out of 100, but by using two numbers, 99% misses only 1 in 10,000 or something. It makes the shown numbers behave c...

Re: army did not carry over to 2nd scenario ?

They don't automatically start recruited - however, at any spot you can recruit, you can also recall. Recall brings up the units from previous scenarios, which can be brought back and used more.

Re: Why are all mainline campaign leaders male?

I haven't read this thread in its entirety but I just wanted to say I'd personally prefer to play campaigns made for human beings and telling stories about human beings, instead of campaigns about fantasy gender stereotypes made for fantasy gender stereotypes. Nobody is asking for fantasy gender st...

Re: Discovery of Wesnoth

Is there a limitation in healing? Ethiliel and a shamann were close to an hurted unit and the shamann doesn't heal? Even alone she doesn't heal. There is something I do not understand about that point. Healing heals the 6 units adjacent to the healer; they do not heal themselves - it also heals eit...

Re: Why are all mainline campaign leaders male?

Could you enlighten me what you mean by female warriors being tiring tropes? I don't say that you're necessarily wrong, but it's not like BfW tries to make its campaign protagonists super unique (just count how many of them are orphans). Okay, I think most would agree that "The South Guard&quo...

Understanding the error is something that has to wait until highschool. It's traditionally left until highschool, but it doesn't need to wait that long. I've taught math of similar difficulty to elementary students before, and they are generally able to grasp concepts just fine. Actual implementati...

Also sometimes certain pairs of or combos of levelled units are overpowered which can be used for leader assassination strategies: like sylph/shyde combos, or grand knight/paladin pairs or a bunch of avengers, bunch of silver mages, squad of gryphon masters.. these guys are quick, flying or have so...

Re: Luck in multiplayer

Poker is almost entirely luck based though, so it isn't the same. A handful of professionals are able to consistently win major tournaments. Below that level, a fair number of people are consistently able to make some money on the side of whatever else they do competing in the sort of events that t...

Re: Luck in multiplayer

1) Plan for luck - Which I always do, is often very difficult and sometimes impossible. There is a difference between thinking "my archer has 50% chance to hit, he has 4 attacks and I only need 2 hits to kill, therefore, statistically, I'll kill their unit" and "their unit is in open...

Re: My thoughts on the games balance

You would be surprise to know that most skilled players use to think is the oposite: Undead have very hard time dealing with Knalgans. Try to attack a ghost with an ulfserker at day and look what happens. Then cover your ulfserker with footpads so enemy units cant reach him next turn... and watch u...

Re: The RNG seems very off.

I see similar matrix dodging or insanely accurate shots happening multiple times a game. I'm doing more research of how often this pops up, but so far in the game I am playing it has come up each round(I say a round is my turn then my opponent's turn) , which it should not be popping up anywhere ne...

Re: Help with Revenge is mine

Well it's the 62nd turn, and it seems like you don't have very many units. You should restart. Though it may sound simple, I suggest flooding. Get a good mix of skeletons and archers, a few ghouls here and there, and LOTS of ghosts. Ghosts can absorb a lot of damage and have great defenses, so they...

I think that he wants to make units influence adjacent units of different gender (specific effects, some for allies, something else for enemies), possibly with some other influence from units of the same gender. Like gentlemen Duelists being reluctant to hit enemy women and doing less damage becaus...

Re: Questions about D&D.

I have another curiosity. In D&D, undeads do not have a Con score. Why? I understand that Con score directly determines HP (hitpoints). If undeads have Con=0, then they should have HP=0. How is it that they have HP non-zero? There's a difference between not having a score and having a score of ...
