Re: A New Order art

Oh, really cool! It's definitely an interesting look. Is he meant to be crying, am I interpreting that right?

How would you implement stealth?

Stealth is a major component of many tactical games (like Commandos or Jagged Alliance), but it barely exists in Battle for Wesnoth. One implementation I remember was some campaign for Era of Magic where you played as a vampire count, where stealth involved having to kill enemies who see you quickly...

I love the 'comic book' vibe of your art. It looks so cool and dynamic!

Re: looking for portraits

Hi, so you're looking for an artist then? I can help (for free obv).
Here's my portfolio: https://shino1.artstation.com/ - does my skill look sufficient for your needs?

Also what style do you want, matching the Wesnoth style?

Shino Strikes Back

After a aeon long ten year slumber... I awake. Hi, I used to be an active member, then I fell off... But now I'm back! Link to my old cringe teenage thread: https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?t=34416 So first thing of order: I noticed that Dark Sorcerer still doesn't have a unique portrait, so...

Re: Introduce yourself here!

Hi! I'm technically not new here, but I haven't been active around here in 10 years. Recently I decided to come back to the community that honestly has heavily shaped beginning of my interest in art and game design. So hi everyone, I'm Ada, nickname Shino. I'm a pixel artist (mostly thanks to Wesnot...

Re: Movies discussion

So, there's a chance we'll get movie that combines best sides of them both (great visuals, good pacing and staying true to original from Snyder, with new refreshing take on old mythos and great script by Nolan).
Fun fact: Nolan wrote and directed Memento too, apparently. I didn't even know.

Re: Not just "more random"

Why not just add 1/7000 chance that unit you recruit will be "shiny" version that has exactly the same stats, but alternate color palette?

Re: [UMC] Campaign idea focusing on asymmetrical warfare

How about something like this? "Guerilla" factions would be unable to recruit units in keeps, or capture villages - instead, they'd be able to get troops from villages, though selection would be random. To compensate, it'd allow to get units normally unavailable - loyal, or already experie...

Re: [UMC] Campaign idea focusing on asymmetrical warfare

There are lot of units and skills that would be perfect for such campaign (conceal, poison, backstab, ambush etc.) as properly used they'd allow to defeat technically stronger foe.
Also, stealing villages (reminiscent of IRL cutting supplies) is already a viable tactic in Wesnoth.

Re: 1.9 SP Campaign - Sweet Revenge

@8680: Um, I don't see his last visit date (he always hides it), my guess is that you do since you're admin on Novalia. His last post was in late March though.
I'll send him an e-mail, let's hope he didn't change it since before R2D forums moving.

Re: Age of Wonders III

They don't look bad, they just... don't look much like AoW anymore. I mean, one thing these games didn't have, was "overdone" style. Everything was kept relatively realistic and, so most nations footmen were just a guy in chainmail, with shield and sword/axe (most looking rather practical)...

Re: new Fire Dragon

I think campaign (or era etc.) including all the the surrealist Blarumyrran's sprites would be interesting idea.
