Re: All in one place (colosseum edited/changed)
The Colosseum game available on the servers seems to be v2.0.8. This seems to disable teleporting back to the central podium, and automatically healing between waves. There are also occasional problems with buying add ons to regenerate and healing. The bugs simply need fixing, but is the current int...

Re: Avian Faction portraits and sprites
The kingfisher looks really good to me. The Hummingbird still looks too static. A flicker of leg movement might be good. The arm once it comes out with the bow deals with different tensions. There will be more movement of the torso, and arms, especially as the head comes forward to aim the shot. The...

Re: Avian Faction portraits and sprites
The base is too static for the attack animation. The whole body needs to move, including head, legs etc. Have a look at how the mainline sprites (bowman, elvish archer etc attack) The stance is also very wide, maybe deliberate. The base sprites seem pretty good, so worth persisting to get the attack...

Re: Balance Ideas (Unit Changes)
Hey guys, when considering upgrading the archer, also try consider the Orc vs UD matchup too where the archer is a very important unit. Dextrous archers would do 12-2 to skels at night I think which is a bit powerful IMO. On the other hand, maybe a hp boost would make them a little bit more useable...

Re: Shrouded Factions
I do think being able to choos your faction would fundametally alter the way the game is played. On a big map drakes are the natural choice, being the fastest of the factions. On a smaller map, and especially one with central keeps (HGB, Wall of pyrennis, aethermaw among others) where the leader can...

Re: [interface] Ghost image
I agree that units moving on your opponents turn popping in and out of the fog of war shouldn't be shown as ghost images. Too confusing with multiple units through 1 hex. However, say you advance north and then attack south east with a cavalryman, with the north movement spotting a unit, A shadow un...

Re: North Facing Loyalist bowman base frame
Nice edit. I had already thought of brightening the quiver, but you did a better job.
I retouched your edit, defined some of the edges a little more clearly and redid some of the shading, especially to give the boots a little more shape. The head and body shape is a great improvement.

Re: North Facing Loyalist bowman base frame
First 5 frames of an attack animation (bow coming into position and free hand reaching the string.) I am aware further frames are required for the drawing of the string and firing of the arrow.

Re: A Battle For Wesnoth Miniature Wargame
All of the damage changes are basic multiplication. That said, if damage and hit points were both multiplied by ten it might be easier for the less mathematically inclined to deal with resistances. However, that does remove the rounding involved which could potentially disrupt balance. But multipli...

Re: North Facing Loyalist bowman base frame
Re-edited the bowman, with a new neckline, modified belt and boot tops, re-shaded hands and quiver.
I've tried to avoid black (I think the darkest colour I used is 030303)
@shiremct, thanks very much for the critique and tips.

Re: Question for people with medical knowledge
It would be unusual (lucky?) to only receive a wound to the trachea, but it is at the front, so if the person avoided all but the tip of the sword it might be the only part damaged. There is likely to be some bleeding (thyroid gland sits over the front, and has many blood vessels, but incising it wo...

Re: North Facing Loyalist bowman base frame
Redid the head and trousers, enlarged the quiver. @tsi: I suspected that this was the case, except for defence animations, however without having done a lot of spriting I wanted to avoid the 'only the moving bits move' and wanted to see whether people had major complaints about the animation of the ...

Re: North Facing Loyalist bowman base frame
I tried shading the north facing bowman. I'm not sure about the armour, I don't think I've pillowshaded it, but it doesn't look quite right.

Re: North Facing Loyalist bowman base frame
I may have got slightly frustrated when I realised the bowman was facing the wrong way.
However, I managed to make a sprite that I think faces the right direction (NE).
I'm not happy with the head, or the feather, and perhaps the bow shape needs work.
Let me know what you think
