Re: Mostly spritework.

Sorry, I am not changing Thana's appearance. I made her for the very reason that I disliked the entirely one-race, no-variety nature of wesnoth elves; plus, I already made portraits for her. I did not take the unit sizes into account, no... I realized afterwards but decided not to change it yet beca...

Re: Mostly spritework.

Thank you! I originally made the Halberdier sprite just as something fun to accompany the portrait I made for an elvish halberdier, so I wasn't really sure how to make it more impressive or different for the promotion without turning it into a wholly different unit - I didn't plan! I'm still trying ...

Re: Mostly spritework.

Actually, all but Brohm are elves. Thana purposefully has a different colour scheme than the average elf, though, to fit her backstory.
*scratches her head* I mostly picked the colours to compliment the mainline elven colours, but if they're really too bland I'll experiment.

Mostly spritework.

Hey! I make sprites sometimes too, mostly for the rpg-ish campaign project me and my girlfriend are working on. I'm not incredibly good at spriting yet, and though I try to make custom stuff I still have to frankenstein some minor things, but I'm working on it. Generally not really the type to make ...

Re: Powershot's [Awesome] units

It might not have gone well, but you should try to not let that discourage you. Nobody's first attempts go well. What people are trying to say is that you can keep doing these frankensteins forever, but you won't be getting any better by doing so, and they will keep being recognizable as frankenstei...

Re: Sceptre of Fire during the "Eastern Invasion"'s events

I will keep an eye on this topic, then, to see what's decided. I am more than willing to give the EI version of Konrad II the scepter if wanted.

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Hopeful that no more work is needed on Gweddry, I started sketching for Mal-Ravanal. I should probably gather more skeleton references before I continue, though. And make sure the cloth falls more realistically.

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Thanks! I think I fixed the issues that you listed, LordBob; I hope the hilt is sufficiently impressive now.

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Isn't it just a hand-and-a-half sword as it is right now? It seems awkward to me too, but I think I remember something about those existing.

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Oulines on where? The entire picture, or just the hair? I was thinking of doing Dacyn next, but I'm going to do a quick playthrough of the campaign to figure out what characters even need portraits. I was planning on making at least some expressions, but I haven't fully decided yet. It depends on ho...

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Thanks for the paintover and reference photos, very much appreciated and they helped a lot. (: I think I got it now. I actually kind of like how it turned out, so hopefully it's better now.

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Highlight is fixable. (:

A paintover would be appreciated, as I am honestly at a loss on how to improve the hair right now. I've been trying for the last hour or so. D:

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Thanks for the comments. I hadn't noticed the face's light source; light direction still often manages to evade my notice, probably because I used to shade by the "what looks cool" rule rather than the "this looks natural" rule. D: I'm still wrestling with the hair, but I feel I ...

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Hi! I disappeared. I do that sometimes. It's never planned, though, so it wasn't my intention! Anyway, the reason I did was that I had rather grossly underestimated the amount of my time an education in Illustration would take. Grossly. I think I can do this again now, though, as I have given up on ...

Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts

Sorry for taking a while, I've had precious little time for anything but schoolwork lately, I'm afraid - but the big presentation of half a year's worth of artwork has just been finished, I had a passing grade, and now I have a week off. And I have alotted a nice bit of time in that week to work on ...
