Re: High quality free sound effects

Hi, I am sure many content creators here would love to use your sound effects. However, I do not see any licensing information, just the ambiguous word " free ". All content uploaded to the official add-on server needs to be licensed as GPLv2, so to make use of your files, they also need to be licen...

Re: Answer to Vultraz and the 24 Jul 2015's request for help

shadowm has clearly stated that the Khalifate will not be changed / replaced. I will therefore lock this thread. We've had enough of this discussion, and the developer team have decided to introduce the Khalifate as is, and asking for every thing to be aligned with everybody's political ideas is und...

Re: (1.12) When are GUI CFG loaded?

AFAIK, the only options you have for add-ons are to either change the theme via ThemeWML (somewhat undocumented, needs some trial and error), use the standard [message] system or create complex dialogues via the wesnoth.show_dialog() lua function.

Re: New Default Factions

Your idea somewhat touches on FPI #20: More Units . While obviously it would be great to have a higher diversity of factions (and, thus, playstyles), integrating a faction into mainline means balancing it. And this balancing progress is a long and tiring process, requiring many tweaks and playtests....

Re: Standing and idle animations?

To me it now looks like the robe magically snaps back into its original place. Maybe it would be good to have one intermediary frame?

Re: Make night darker, twilight warmer

As you said, nights are not grey, but very dark and almost black. Where did I say that? I'm sorry – I misread your post. In this case, replace "As you said" with "in my experience": At least in the forest at night I can see nothing if the moon isn't bright / hidden by clouds. ... On a more serious ...

Re: Make night darker, twilight warmer

As you said, nights are not grey, but very dark and almost black. The terrain you posted should thus look more like this: https://i.imgur.com/iF3GACx.png Units should be darkened as well, since you cannot see people in dark forests at night at all. Maybe leave their eye glow in. ... On a more seriou...

Re: A thought of writing

I do not know the actual answer, but I wanted to correct this: The GPL does allow you to make money from the licensed product. I do not know how exactly this would apply to a novel, though.

Re: Smaller Font Size

In case you haven't figured it out yet, or anyone else is interested in this: I did this in my add-on Quest for Wesnoth. I have the following lua code: function wesnoth.theme_items.weight() local weight = wesnoth.get_variable("qow_weight") or 0 return { { "element", { text = weight }} } end And this...

Re: How do I install new user-made scenarios?

Regarding Quest of Wesnoth – it's pretty much only in a proof-of-concept stage. I did, however, port it to 1.11/1.12/1.13/whatever we're on right now yesterday and plan to finally pick it up again. Note also that you need some minor fixes to run the 1.10 version in 1.11, downloading it the way James...

Look at both Scenario & Campaign Development and (probably even better) Multiplayer Development. You should find plenty of what you're looking for there. :)

Re: Streaming Wesnoth on Twitch Help

Welcome (back), then! I'm not too familiar with OBS, but since nobody else seems to have any idea either: You could try to use the desktop capture mode instead of using a game source, and stream the screen region where Wesnoth is. I have heard that this worked for certain games which were not stream...
