Re: After the Storm
Hi, I am very impressed with After the Storm . The variety of scenario types, storytelling sequences, new units, graphics and music makes this addon precious (;. Great work - it must have taken hours and hours to bring this to completion. The third campaign of After the Fall is the best - probably b...

Re: Gunpowder Age
Hi,
I would like to congratulate You for creating such an entertaining and challenging era.
If I had a wishes, it would be
+ more maps, preferably smaller ones.
+ a colonial theme added, i.e. Samurai of Japan, China, Indians Tribes of North America.
Cheers,
Jearrr

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
Umm... are you looking for artistic critique, or help creating a backstory for this character? I am mainly looking for artistic critique and collaboration, for these are the things that are giving me headaches right now. It took me a while to get Grom where he has, and I would have never managed to...

Re: Grom the Barbarian
sagaofgrom.png Indeed, Mountain_King and Sangel, You were right. I am currently putting together the Saga Of Grom - and in the many manuscripts it is written .. and thus banned was Grom from the mainline, and forth he went to the workshops of art.. I like this Grom character. From his backstory, he...

Grom the Barbarian
Ask Yourself, o Mighty One, why in Wesnoth many a great elven heroes, mighty mages and necromancers, princess warriors and goblin chieftain heroes could be found, but yet no great savage has been seen that could claim the title of king of barbarians . Know this, o Great One, before the fall of the g...

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
I'm not the best spriter here, but I suppose this example might be enough. I suggest you note my pallete changes; most tones such as skin and gold are not composed of a uniform color sliding up and down the luminority scale; rather, they are formed from changes in saturation and hue as well as lumi...

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
Part of the issue with contrast is that you don't seem to have much in the way of shadows and highlighting on the arms and chest. If I understand You right You mean there is a lack of objects on the chest arms that can generate shadow, or am I mistaken? Or do You mean that I did not create realisti...

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
Not sure I am satisfied with the last version.
I know that I have to increase the contrasts in order to produce effects that refect material, shape and direction, but I think I am not there yet.
Is the left fist OK, or should I increase it even further? What about the eyes/face features?
Cheers!

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
Thanks for all the compliments and the (very) constructive critique! They sure helped a lot! Right now I am a bit short on time, but I will get the savage when I find some. We will see if I manage to make an update today, for playing with the light is the most challenging part for me. ... Also, your...

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
Thanks speedbrain and dixie,
I will look more into lightening effects. In my opinion this is the most difficult part. I also corrected the mistake with the sword in version 4. Thanks for pointing that out.
Cheers!

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
Do you know how to use Team Colouring? It appears that you tried to mimic the magenta, but ingame you have to use a predetermined palette that can be found here . ... Thanks, I looked into it and fixed the it according to the TC palette. You need much, much more contrast. I would recommend starting...

Re: My first pixel: a barbarian anti-hero
I also think you should make the torso smaller and the legs a bit longer (move the belt up). Consider using some mainline reference for size, too, just as a guide as to around where his foot should be, his waist, shoulders, top of his head, etc. So it can fit more with other wesnoth sprites. Afterw...

Grom the Barbarian
Of the King of Barbarians In the days of high adventure, From the far north like a storm , came a barbarian man with the name of Grom, hardened by lizards mines and savage lands, to break kingdoms with strong hands. [/i] Beeing no graphic artist at all, I wanted to give it a try and make a small, e...
