Re: Poll: Do dragons eat drakes?

The fact that drakes are juvenile dragons - https://wiki.wesnoth.org/SecretLore. Ok, it's more clear now. I've found out that ESR is a retired developer (last post 2017, last activity exactly one year ago), and he's the only source of that information as far as I know. That idea also appears in som...

That should have caused an error message Macro/file '~add-ons/my_first_campaign/scenarios' is missing. Not sure why it didn't.
But what if there actually is a campaign my_first_campaign installed? Then ~add-ons/my_first_campaign/scenarios really does exist.

Re: Scenario won't load

It looks like you need to change {~add-ons/my_first_campaign/scenarios} to {~add-ons/poem_of_the_eastern_empire/scenarios}. (And a few other lines still mention to my_first_campaign too.)

second time I ran out of moves I guess. I am not sure.
Usually there is a limit on the number of turns. For the tutorial, this limit is 26 turns. This is indicated by the "1/26" in the screenshot below.

3"...to do so is to invite defeat in detail." In detail looks awkward and unnecessary.
Note that this is a specific military term:

Re: Poll: Do dragons eat drakes?

I'm not sure drakes are actually edible. From their description, it sounds like they don't leave much of a corpse:
... when one of their kind perishes in combat ... its internal fire is released, burning their remains in to ashes.

Re: How to upload add-on to server

I believe the post is talking about clicking the heading of the "Downloads" column, in order to sort by number of downloads. downloads.png If you've created an add-on and you want to upload it for the first time, it will have 0 downloads, so if you sort by number of downloads in ascending order, you...

It is also possible to download old versions of the game (with all the files for the old artwork) here:

Re: Avaerage and max ages of Wesnoth's races

Sometimes the in-game help section gives this information. For example, with drakes, it says they "usually live naturally between 20 to 30 years." (This has also been copied to the wiki.) I'm not sure why it was decided to give them such a short lifespan.

If it did take you 3 hours to collect the building materials for a ship in Empire 3, you did not follow the scenario instructions in some place. It might be interesting to find out where you went wrong so that we can tweak it.
According to my saved game it took me 4 hours to get that far

At least it does imply that he wants to keep maintaining his add-ons. Argesilao, you could provide email for feedback in your add-ons. Take care, we will miss you. I'm not sure whether Argesilao plans to keep maintaining this and other addons, but if so, it might be a good idea to put them on GitHu...

This is the voidlinux based on musl, using "nouveau" drivers. Kernel version is 4.19.27_1, I know by experience that nouveau does not uses my old GPU correctly: NVidia drivers are much more efficient, but AFAIK they are not released for musl, especially considering the fact I'm using a quite old GP...

Re: Poll: do orcs eat humans?

btw, proverbial two cents: if you're trying to follow Tolkien's lead I do not remember the author himself saying anything on the issue. It's been about 15 years since I read Lord of the Rings , and I don't have a copy in front of me, so I can't verify the exact quotes, but according to Wikipedia : ...

Re: BfW is a game that relies on save-scumming too much

That's true, but I wonder why you quote me while saying that? :hmm: Typically in difficult scenarios there is only going to be one way to win (or at least, a narrow range of strategies/tactics needed to win). The challenge is finding it. It would be unusual (though perhaps not impossible) to find a...
