Looks like a very cool jungle bridge. 'Battle for Wesnoth' will probably be renamed 'Battle for the Thousand Bridges' some day. Improved the ne ending and the shadow. The shadow is smaller overall so the bridge seems hanging lower. I am still taking suggestions of course, but it feels like I am zeroing in.

Status update. Endings have changed mostly so the one hex bridge does not suck. Floor has a faint touch of wobblyness now and the ropes are hopefully less boring.

I am fine with the developers (finally) taking care of this, and do not have stakes in it. But I cannot let this stand: You cannot use images without a license. So either their program is derived and they have to obey the GPL or it is not and they cannot use the images at all. So you can't use Photo...

It’s really a legally untested subject, but I do not think you can consider a web site a distributable item. A case could be made that if your project is separate from the images, it may be fine enough. If not, how would search engines deal with that? Search machines link to images, they do not cop...
