Re: Destruction Era
First, you might want to change "abismal fish" to "abyssal fish." "Abysmal" means really bad at something. Anyways, if you wanted my personal opinion, the Dragons faction is kind of flat because none of the units seem to have anything interesting, nor do they really com...

Re: Continuous attacks till a unit is dead?
Yes, factor that into a strategy, but keep in mind that only one unit in default has that attack. It's level 2 does too, but I'm counting that as one. And, also keep in mind that the factions are balanced. The above post mentions that the Knalgans faction has many advantages, but just keep in mind ...

Re: My new era idea
This is a start, but I would like to see some units first. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a couple of concrete, stat'd out units is worth a thousand faction themes.
Re: Hulavuta's Rants
I'm much less worried about leetspeak and textingspeak and more worried about the prevalence of words like "up." It used to be that we had a handful of words like "raise," "increase," or "improve," that express a handful of different concepts. Now people just ...

Even supposing you're some kind of super designer who is leaps and bounds ahead of the skills of your artist/coder... you've yet to show us anything.

Re: Eternal War Era - Where do I go now?
Now that I've got everything down but the art, I'd like to be able to play out this era on my own computer. But also, I'd like to have others be able to test it, maybe at a time before I start making art on my own. So question: is it fair to temporarily use art from Default Era to represent units in...

Re: StarCraft II
I agree on some level. For someone like me who is very casual about starcraft, I won't be playing with the top players unless I dedicated myself. I have the beta and it looks like Blizzard is trying to match players against other players of similar abilities. Someone can only move up by putting in ...

Re: StarCraft II
The reason I don't like micro is, when I play a computer game, I prefer to earn victory by out-thinking my opponent. When micro is involved, it feels like winning is dependent on having better brute reflexes and muscle memory. Besides, when a game emphasizes muscle memory it unnecessarily raises the...

Re: StarCraft II
I'm not that big a fan of Blizzard's RTS's (the need for micro puts me off, especially in Warcraft 3). However, I will be getting Starcraft 2 if for nothing else than to see what custom maps and mods people come up with.

Re: Do we need another era?
I don't think we should dismiss the idea of a competitive multiplayer era. From what I gathered in this thread http://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=29756 , balance for multiplayer and campaign/fluff do collide. As well, I believe there are enough campaign players and multiplayer player...

Re: Werewolf Faction (Separate from the EOM Warg)
I don't like being that guy, but as far as I understand it, these werewolves already do what the Lawful or Chaotic aligned factions in core do - they get weaker or stronger depending on time of day. To throw some ideas out there, what if your werewolves: 1. fought with different damage types dependi...

Re: Era of Ideologies (Title Pending) 0.0.0
I would be very interested to see how a unit like the Patron works out in-game. At first, I was ready to dismiss the negative upkeep as dangerously exploitable, but in Wesnoth, enemy units are a sort of resource. If you get 8 xp from killing a relatively weak Patron and your units can catch those pa...

As an average, heterosexual adult male, I am concerned about tits. However, to theorize that I am so concerned about tits that I am unable to restrain myself from clicking on a banner wherein there is a tit is a to assert that, when confronted by tits, I can think of nothing else and will throw all ...

I think the silly thing about Evony ads is that they don't tell you "I want you to check out this game!" so much as they tell you "I want to give you a virus!" or "I'm insulting your intelligence!"
