Re: Campaign: Love To Death
It is a know issues that appeared since bfw 1.8rc1, I am not even sure if it is a campaign bug or a wesnoth bug but normally, Kaliostali shall not be on the castle however the scenario is fully playable without any recruit(in fact it is how it is intended on hard difficulty) Okay i ll do it that wa...

Re: Campaign: Love To Death
Hey i m at the first scenario of this campaign. When Aleva sees her father he asks her to "recruit the troops" but there is no castle u can recruit from except the one he is standing. Is there a way to move him, some other place i can recruit or should i do the scenario just with Aleva and...

Re: Bad luck? Read this
in rl war if you plan an attack and your terrain protects you better you smash your enemy there is no luck factor that prevents it if everything is visible to you as the attacker... else you would not attack. in wesnoth on the other hand it can happen that the attacker doesn´t even hit once. A supe...

Re: Statistics
I get what the top section of the statistics window says, but what does the damage section mean? I'll probably look like an idiot after this is answered :P Damage Inflicted X/Y Z% X is the damage the player's units have caused to enemies. Y is the damage the player's units would have done to enemie...

Re: Noob question.
Hmm its not like someone is forcing u to use that option
To consider my self that i have beaten a scenario i will have to do it from start to finish without saveloading. I do allow myself to restart the scenario if things go really bad. Anyone is free to use or not to use save as they want.

Re: Wikipedia page on wesnoth
If you think that mentioning a core gameplay mechanic will scare away players no matter how well it's phrased, well, that says more about your insecurity towards how good of a game Wesnoth is than anything else. I didnt even know i could feel insecure about how good a game i m playing is. Yes imo w...

Re: Wikipedia page on wesnoth
I'm suggesting pointing out its drawbacks on Wikipedia (where the drawbacks to commercial games are also pointed out). not suggesting pointing out its drawbacks on the Wesnoth site (although it would also be a good idea - would decrease the number of people complaining if you clearly pointed out &q...

Re: Wikipedia page on wesnoth
Why on earth should wiki page state something becacuse some people might consider it a "drawback"? Commercial games that u actually pay money to buy wont even bother pointing out real drawbacks, not something that is subjective. And lets say someone got tricked (lol) into downloading wesno...

Re: I downloaded it and started playing on normal...
I agree with most of the responses but on an offtopic note the HttT campaign (which is probably the first campaign everyone plays because its first on the list) does have some scenarios like the one where u have to survive three liches that imo are above the regular novice ones. Plus its a very long...

Re: 1.6.x and 1.7.8-1.7.13 SP Drake Campaign, Brave Wings
Hey. I ve been playing through the campaign and i am enjoying it so far its very good. I really like it although the ulfseekers are kicking my ass a bit :P . I m on the "tomahawk" scenario and i think i found a bug. I blew up the enemy weapon on turn 4 and at turn 6 it respawned and killed...

Re: Factional jack or specialist?
a good specialist needs to know how to play all the other races too, as pointed out over the years by many wesnoth forum-ers. by learning to play all the races, players gain the advantage of learning how their enemy would think while moving and recruiting and why. that, in itself, is enough advanta...

Re: Factional jack or specialist?
i have thought about just hiding player choices. i anticipate that the group of people who used to random because they were lazy to pick would lose that option and be unhappy about possibly getting a less favourable leader or a race they don't feel like playing if they randomed. I dont belong in ei...

Re: Factional jack or specialist?
my idea of showing your 'random' choice and making it changeable, combined with hiding player races/leaders pre-game would satisfy all these people. those who are lazy to decide, want variety/challenge, can pick random. if they don't like it, they can random again, or choose. those who have a prefe...

Re: I really dislike "Legend of Wesmere"...
Coming back to the discussion, I can agree that shamans are game changers, but I intend them mainly as supporting units: they heal wounded units and they slow dangerous enemies to allow fighters and archers to kill them with less harm. I think this is a completely fair way to consider shamans. Sham...
