Re: 1.12 game start sound

I voted for the fourth horn signal, but I think it's a bit too long. It might get annoying after a couple of games... If someone could make a shorter version in a similar style, that would be perfect.

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 4player Map Contest and Overhaul!

*crickets still chirping*

If anyone needs help with testing, I'll gladly play a match or two. I'm available after 6 pm GMT, Tuesday-Friday, or I can join earlier as a spectator and comment on the game (after it's finished, that is). Good luck!

Re: [mainline] Red mages naming

Great Mage is not supreme at anything except throwing fire. This  I mean, we have a mage who can teleport as well as throw fire. Even necromancers appear to have more skills as they can cast two different spells and raise dead. Also there are white mages, who can heal and cure people. Never th...

Re: disscusion about 1.12 mushroom terrain

trolls having fearless but no intelligent Wow, I've been playing Wesnoth for a while and I never noticed this. On topic: I for one always loved Wesnoth for being so thoroughly balanced and I can imagine that those "remarkably few" changes can break the whole thing (btw, boosting defence b...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 4player Map Contest and Overhaul!

There's one technical detail I'd like to point out for sides 3&4: if their leader decides to capture the cave village, they won't be able to reach their second castle, unless they have 6 mp. I'd make it so that the second keep is either unreachable, or reachable for both slow and fast leaders. A...

Re: Bowmen should be revisited ?

I remember some time ago losing in a very embarrassing way in a drakes (me) vs. bowmen spam. It's not that bowmen are useless, they just serve a different purpose than, e.g, Spearmen, your common cannon-fodder. Similar thing can be said about skeleton archers for instance. So this plus the usual &qu...

Re: Movies discussion

Did anyone watch the new edition Godzilla? I found it Actually a let down in comparison to the old version. Very disappointed :( I was pretty sure it's going to be crap, since it's one of those movies people will go to watch anyway, regardless of their quality. However I've heard a couple of positi...

Re: Steam Greenlight #2

I'll say something totally unrelated to developers' point of view (and I'm quite sure someone will state theirs). Steam is not just a gaming platform. Have you ever read the privacy policy, terms of use and everything you happily accept when you buy your game? Have you ever thought about it? You see...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 4player Map Contest and Overhaul!

My mighty script just finished analysing 4-player games stored in replays.wesnoth.org/1.10/. Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 4player Map Contest and Overhaul!

The point is that we only want very polished content in mainline, because mainline content has the official Wesnoth brand on it, implying our approval. If some maps are outdated and not balanced or not fun, or if we simply don't like them anymore, then it makes sense to clean them out. Especially i...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: 4player Map Contest and Overhaul!

Hi! I'm really glad to see this thread. First of all, let me drop some numbers here. Here are official statistics of the 4th The Grand Tag edition: Maps played: Castle Hopping Isle - 1 Paths of Daggers - 3 4p Underworld - 6 Clash - 7 Xanthe Chaos - 8 Loris River - 9 As Velensk pointed out, the varie...
