Re: Some suggestions for the next version

I disagree. Their are huge gaps in the Wesnoth timeline that are covered by no mainline campaign (including pre-Rise of Wesnoth and between Son of the Black Eye and Under the Burning Suns). Moreover, the game refers to an entire continent or region (where the Wesfolk come from) that is not included...

Re: Jake's Art Corner, More TWL stuff [Critique Encouraged]

The thinner staff is a definite improvement. It would probably look better tilted at a slight angle though. Yeah, it might and I look into it. I probably post a variant soon. :) I suppose it would help to take a look at the mainline white mage (although I'm not sure, I think may be outdated by now,...

Re: Jake's Art Corner, More TWL stuff [Critique Encouraged]

I'm not quite sure, what you mean. Straight by how it should be aligned in the picture or how is it shaped. For the latter option, although not explicitly mentioned in the book, Zarek's staff is straight and relatively simple - having only that orb at the tip. Anyway, I personally reviewed the robed...

Re: Jake's Art Corner, Still TWL stuff [Critique Encouraged]

Now that I have my constitutional obligations and other personal matters handled out, I figured that it's time to restore the projects, I was involved with. And just like previously, I continue with the same theme - The White Lich, that is. This time I concentrated more on the unit base frames of Za...

Thanks for the first truly negative feedback. No - don't think, I'm screwing around with this, I'm in fact truly appreciating this. :) I attempt to provide you with reasonable answers. 1. In the game, creating undead is expensive. Here, I get the impression it costs nothing, given the right techniqu...

Re: What are you reading right now?

Been munching through Terry Pratchett's Discworld series lately. Somewhat erm... five or six books in less than two months, I take... Now I'm starting to read "The Truth".

Snow is fine - as long as you don't have to go out in there.

XVIII: The Fall of the Mighty Every time his left foot hit the paved ground, so did his staff. It chanted the pace out for the rest of the endless horde of the recently dead. The street was painfully straight and it went on and on. On both sides of the street were tall buildings, stuffed into space...

Re: Battalions

A couple of things though, you will need to invest in better quality samples. Those that you have just won't do. The brass is very thin and the percussion has that "machine gun" effect. Thanks for the feedback - Just to let you know, the samples, I used, were downloaded from freesf2.com (...

It feels kinda - strange - to do a sprite after a long break. Nevertheless: http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/2850/elk.png This is supposed to be an elk - or a cross-breed between north-american elk and a north-european moose - Doesn't really matter, because WINR and this elk is going to play only ...

Battalions

Due to the unusually long holiday pass granted by the army (12 days), I've managed to lay my mind off the ranks for a while. For my personal amazement, the rest, I've longed for last few months, sparked up a few inspiration and one of them happened to be on the musical side. Incidentally I wish to c...

Re: The White Lich [Fan-Fic] (Chapter 16 is here. Enjoy.)

Author's Note: Thanks for the ongoing feedback on this topic. Now it's my time to exercise some Dark Art of the forum necromancy on this very topic... It kinda fits the theme.. --Jarkko XVII: A Decision ”He said what?”, Wayn asked from Rocan. After the battle was done, he thought it was the best op...

Re: old guns

Well... I could help you if you wrote about viking-age kinda stuff, but firearms? Nope. One lb is roughly 0,454 kilogrammes, so the answers to your weight questions would be 10 lb = 4,54 kg 50 lb = 22,67 kg 100 lb = 45,36 kg I used this site http://www.convertworld.com/fi/ to find those out after a...

Re: Questions of Death

If one assumes that a lich can be made by exterior means (other necromancers) then there should be no limit to conquering death utterly, as sentient undead could be created easily by skilled necromancers (well, saying "easily" might not be appropriate - I mean, creation would be possible)...

Re: Questions of Death

I wonder if a Lich could live a third time, since his soul was strong enough to forcibly put itself back in its own body. I don't see why not as long as it's body can be recovered and the soul discovered, however it might require the influence of another skilled necromancer to re-conjure a previous...
