Re: Murphy's Law - A Notable Observation

Yes, a good general rule for when to make a risky move that could result in the failure of your plan is: don't. If a move that could result in failure is not 100% guaranteed to work, it's a bad idea. Seriously, though, I find that bad luck is like Drakes: it/they always manage(s) to get you at the w...

Someone spits it back out at you (happy now?).

I put in a mistake.

Sorry for taking so long on this - I really needed a break. I'll try and warn you next time, though. I'll send you the .pbl ASAP.

Re: The Vending Machine--a forum game

You get my "Trance Smile" face . . . er, there's no smiley that resembles it here.
You get a face. When you look directly into its eyes, you see the pages of a book.

I put in the "Submit" button . . . nonono, give it back! Now how am I gonna post this?

Re: The Vending Machine--a forum game

You get a ghostly figure wielding a wrench. He seems to be quite violent, attacking you repeatedly, and his speech consists mostly of sounds similar to those of a real vending machine, combined with the occasional loudly shouted "OUT OF ORDER!"

I put in too many smilies.

Re: Games

Heh. I played Ultima Online for a while - that's one I forgot to mention. I really need to cancel the account for that thing - it's costing $15 a month and I don't even play it anymore.

Re: The Vending Machine--a forum game

You get a green book. When you open it, it . . . does not do what you expect. It covers the area with a fine mist of gas, which causes a feeling of puzzlement when inhaled.

I take advantage of your puzzlement to put you in.

Re: Games

Heh. If you pour everything into AA Granger wouldn't be much of a problem I guess - I'm not sure, because I never saw anybody on the one or two times I looked into MP, so it was just against bots for me. Even so at full strength with multiple airfields it's not hard to wear down AA defenses faster t...

Re: Games

It's gaining momentum! @Pentarctagon: I like Granger and Tao. Mainly Granger - you get what I refer to as the "Big Booms" - carpet bombing, A10s, airstrikes in general - sooner, partially in USA in general and partially due to Granger's gaining carpet bombing from the Strategy Center. I do...

Games discussion

Ok, so I seem to recall that there was a topic a while back in here that had people posting lists of freeware games/just games in general that they enjoyed. I guess the autopruner got it, because I don't see it anymore. I'd like to restart the topic, mainly for selfish reasons; I just uninstalled Dr...

Re: What are you reading right now?

What I'm saying about cardboard cutouts (not a series or book, by the way, which is the impression you seem to have gotten) is that the characters have no depth, no emotions; most of that sort of books can be summarized as "(Insert hero name here) defeats the big bad villain using the awesome p...

Re: What are you reading right now?

Ehhh. Myself, I think HP is a pile of Phoenix manure with great PR. Then again, it's been a while since I read it, so my perceptions may be distorted by not remembering it as well as I could. Another "don't you hate it when?" question: don't you hate it when people are disdainful of you be...

Re: Lords of the North, version 0.0.2 ready! (1.8)

Ah, sorry. I was going to do that, but I started to do it just as my break ended, and then I had to go accompany my grandmother as she went to shuttle my mother back and forth and pick up my great-grandmother from the daycare center . . . Yeah.
