Re: New Quick Map - 4p - Amaranthine

4p_Amaranthine2-1.jpg Hey another update coming your way, I went ahead and made a small change. The terrain is now reversed as you can see in the picture. Hopefully this helps combat any advantage 1st and 3rd player get by moving before their opponent. I feel with this change that 2nd and 4th playe...

Re: New Quick Map - 4p - Amaranthine

This map is not on the MP add-on server, I wanted to work out the kinks before that step was taken.

And I will work on squashing that first turn advantage. Let me know if my efforts are successful.

Re: New Quick Map - 4p - Amaranthine

4p_Amaranthine2.jpg Went ahead and made some adjustments to the map. The center of the map has been drastically changed in an attempt to create faster paced gameplay. Since there are two villages within the center caves, there is also a strategic value to it as well. The center not only provides we...

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest! UPDATED

I was waiting for the results of the first round like a small child waiting for Christmas morning the night before. Sad to see that I didn't make the cut but I am confident in the judges decisions. Back to the drawing board or map editor that is. Thank you to all the judges participating in this con...

Checks and Balances for Server Admins

Hi there everyone, I have an issue here that I came across last year on the Wesnoth MP servers. The developer and admin Noy was seemingly abusing his administrative powers. For example, he banned me for being in the lobby for too long along with some other reasons. When my friend accused him of abus...

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest!

Legend says there was once a fierce warrior that went by the name Ina'ar. An epic battle took place along the banks of a small river, countless soldiers were lost. Ina'ar was the last unit for his side, fighting ferociously he claimed many lives. Having shown much valor, the river was named Ina'ar ...

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest!

My initial impressions, just looking at the screenshot. Unless P2 gets a quick flying unit in the right place, P1 will beat him to the top right village and the bottom left village. This is exacerbated by the fact that small, low-village maps tend to devalue scouts, so recruiting fast units to resp...

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest!

I have done quite a bit of testing and have worked out all flaws and/or balance issues. A very balanced map, there are no inherent race advantages as well as no advantage to being first. Are you a newer player? Looking at this map, I'm certain that neither of the above are true. So from looking at ...

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest!

Can I submit three maps?

and will there be just one winner or will there be several categories to win? Examples of categories being number of players on a map or map size.
