The sprites look nice but to me they both look like level 1 units. Especially the Secutor could have more color and larger size. Looks quite nice. One thing you could try is to use colored outlines instead of black. For example dark green on the leaf.

I think the spider looks actually pretty good. The rat seems too much like the actual rat unit. Against gray tile with darkness on top (like in a cave) it would be hard to distinguish zombie rat from giant rat. Made a level 0 mage but I think it still needs to be "weakened" somehow to look less like level 1.

Had an idea of a ratman while ago. Finally, I had some time and flow to try it out. Turned out quite ok but I think it seems bit unreadable.

Yes. I think that is quite lvl2 and I had an idea to make a lvl 3 version. I guess I should also make lvl1 unit then?

btw. Thought about the peasant hero. Seems quite good for lvl 0 unit to advance into sergeant and/or thief.

So, I was trying to find if there was a thread about version 1.13.11 but the search engine of this forum interpreted the search as "1 13 11" and scolded me for using too common words. Is there anything that can be done to support such format?
