Re: Wesnoth 1.13.8 (1.14 Beta 1)
I don't know why it's a guess. Maybe it's not a guess. I think the general point of my statement got across, though? Fixing this is as simple as changing one constant during SDL initialization and not disabling that dropdown in prefs while in fullscreen mode. In other words, it's really easy. Your ...

Yes, the guess is incorrect. (Why is it a guess?)
And probably more important than the actual desktop setting is the proper ratio (16:9), because this funky ~1234x789 resolution that is currently auto-picked makes units and characters look like beep with the interpolation.

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.8 (1.14 Beta 1)
I couldn't make much sense of the code gfgtdf linked, but:
- it does not set the resolution to the current desktop resolution (Win 8.1)
- please, please, please make that option available again

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.8 (1.14 Beta 1)
You might want to have a look into the shortcuts. It seems like standard for zoom in is "=" now. Thanks for your reply, Bitron, I somehow missed it... '=' didn't work either for zooming in, Idk why; but I could add '+' as a hotkey and that worked (on a German keyboard). I still don't know why I can...

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.8 (1.14 Beta 1)
Your screenshot from 1.12.6 is smaller, so it looks like scaling is disabled in 1.12.6 for some reason. ... The long-term solution would be disabling Windows's built-in DPI virtualization and implementing our own scaling, but it's such a large task that we aren't going to do it for 1.14.0. Setting ...

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.8 (1.14 Beta 1)
@jyrkive: Thank you for your explanation. @Celtic_Minstrel: Thank you for your replies. I don't think the menus should have tooltips. I suppose End Turn could. Just thought I'd mention it. This seems like a font smoothing (anti-aliasing) issue. You could disabling it in your system preferences and s...

Re: Wesnoth 1.13.8 (1.14 Beta 1)
Great we're making progress! :D I already like some of the changes, for example recruit lists without scroll bar. Here are some things I've noticed having a quick look: My Windows (8.1) prevented the downloaded .exe from executing (because it could potentially be dangerous), after doing it anyway it...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles
A minor complaint regarding LotI: until now, I have not noticed how many "Okay"s are used in dialogs but now I do. I have found that Dugi is very open regarding suggestions; if you can think of something better, he might just put it in there. :) Maybe in an old/new version: "debt. Please, let me jo...

Re: Legend of the Invincibles
Welcome MsPierced! I know I could return to the stable 1.12 build, which seems to work okay AFAIK LotI simply doesn't work in BfW 1.13.x, and I don't recall Dugi saying anything that would change. It's worth to play the Github version? ... Also, how do I install the Github version? There's a bunch o...

Re: Sprite Assistance
Turns out I don't know too much about the facial features of our sprites... ;) Eyes: Aren't they all squares? I would look at sprites that look good and take inspiration from them. Light/white pixel next to dark pixel is one common way. I don't think they're actually squares, maybe my 'problem' here...

Re: Embuck's sprite attempts
I think there needs to be 'more arm'; the length seems like upper arm + hand, so the lower arm could be added?Embuck wrote:gawien-thief.png

Re: Not really sure where to go from here
I was just wondering you you guys could help me out at all. :) I can hardly draw stick-figures, but here are some things I noticed (sides from our point of view): - the eyes are not eye-shaped, they look more like black circles - I can't see a nose and I can't make out the mouth - his right shoulde...

Re: Mainline campaign sprites and animations needed
Besides that Nym's sword-hand isn't readable very well, I'll just go ahead repeating myself that the angle of the cross-guard/sword is off.

Re: Legend of the Invincibles
@Dugi: Thanks for your reply, but I feel cheated out of XP! :P @nuorc: do you have the Github version of LotI, or the one from the add-on server? It is a github version (3.1.23), but not the latest. (I didn't like the additional nasty black souls...) @death_lord: Welcome! As ForestDragon wrote, ' a ...
