Re: [interface][engine] moving more units at once
While I can sympathize with the notion of this being a useful feature, particularly on large maps, I believe it would prove rather difficult to implement. Different unit types have differing movement speeds, as well as movement costs on certain terrains. For this reason, I think that you would rarel...

Re: [mainline] Orcs race trait
Such a change wouldn't be "purely for flavor"- it would affect multiplayer balance. (And if it was "purely for flavor", i.e. no gameplay effect, then it would be rather pointless and potentially confusing, IMO.) Although, goblins have unique traits such as "dim" and &qu...

Re: Item shop for leaders
It sounds to me like you've mostly played the core game and not yet tried the amazing user-made content that the Wesnoth community has produced. (or if you have, you've probably barely scratched the surface.) There's a wealth of incredible content that can be downloaded from within the game, and peo...

Re: The Blind Sentinel [Feedback and development topic]
Hm, very well-presented and intriguing announcement post. I'm tempted to give it a go, but we'll see if I have time in the next couple days. School starts this week.

Re: Correction in human race description, pls.
I agree with both of the posts above. In the process of the artistic overhaul Gambit mentioned, what characters might be good candidates for such a change? I was thinking possibly the main character from Liberty... Baldras, IIRC? Or does he already have a current, up-to-date portrait?

Re: Correction in human race description, pls.
Don't overreact, Yomar. There's no need for this potentially productive discussion to turn into a flamewar, which could easily happen if people start needlessly pointing fingers. Lipk said nothing even remotely racist; he simply made the statement that mainline Wesnoth, as it stands currently, doesn...

Re: Introduce yourself here!
I think I've started Heir to the Throne 5 or 6 times and stopped half way through, frustrated with losing my level 2/3 guys. This time around I'm doing better and making use of terrain, strategic retreats, and recruiting dispensable level 1s, as harsh as that is. Just want to say hi. Also liked pla...

Re: Midi files of all used compositions so far available?
MIDI files do not contain actual sound data, like a WAV, MP3, or OGG file does. Think of it like this: those formats are a perfect recording of sound, but a MIDI file is essentially just a digital format of sheet music. The computer reads that sheet music and produces differently-pitched beeps to ma...

Below Freeciv?
Haha just kidding. That is pretty good news!
Thanks for sharing the news, and also thanks for helping try to draw attention to Wesnoth. Kudos!
EDIT: I don't suppose there's any chance of a link to an online article? I'm rather curious what exactly they said.

Re: Elves Besieged (hard/challenging): the Full-Map Strateg
Wow! Very impressive and thorough job you've done there. My first thought is that perhaps you've got a bit too much time on your hands, ( :P ) but I certainly appreciate the work you've obviously put into this. I didn't know that anyone took Wesnoth this seriously, and I don't think I've ever seen a...

As heretical as it seems to criticize Zero's work, I think the tiny feet look ridiculous.

On the original topic, is there something similar I can do to install the latest stable version? (the most recent version available through the Ubuntu Software Center is 1.10.2.)
