Ageless Era charm bug
I was watching an AE game on Morituri 3p and noticed one of the Yokal charm units was bugged. Instead of using the charm attack, the player used the 3x magic attack, but the charm still worked. Replay is uploaded.

Re: Wesnoth+Pokemon?
hah, funny, i figured the biggest thing against me would be the pokemon-ness, but instead it's the do-it-for-me attitude. well, i could try...except for the graphics part. i can't do art. but maybe i'll get the rest of the concept together...if i have time. maybe one of those satirical 'obviously-tr...

Re: Why people consider undead to be underpowered?
ghosts are nice. they can come out of nowhere and finish a kill, and with that they level pretty fast if you're not stupid with them. and they obliterate ulfsarkers and drakes in their ToD. shadows are...wonderful. everyone always seems to level wraiths, and i really don't know why. vs drakes...sure...

Wesnoth+Pokemon?
First off - is that even legal? Secondly - i know i'm a nerd. no need to remind me. Thirdly - i am NOT a developer. i will NEVER be a developer. if you want to hijack this idea, do it. please. if it's legal. or possibly also if it's not legal. so yeah, the idea. pokemon wesnoth. nerdiness aside, it'...

Re: Principles and Doctrines
it's easy to see why people get confused. faux-principles = fake principles or faulty principles, implying that they are deceptive but generally incorrect. this is the mindset i had when creating my post. don't try to argue semantics in a community involving many who have difficulty speaking any eng...

Re: Principles and Doctrines
yeah, what caphriel said. sorry about that. maybe you'll find some good in some of them, at least. don't think they should be taken as truth on any level, because even if it appears mostly true there's fallacious reasoning in every one of them, and that's the point of it. sorry if you assumed i actu...

Re: Principles and Doctrines
Faux-principle: If it is my time of day, I should be attacking. If it is not my time of day, I should be retreating. Faux-principle. If it is not my enemy's time of day, he will retreat. Faux-principle: If I attack hard enough, my enemy will not be able to counterattack. Faux-principle If my defensi...

Re: Why it is difficult to be good at Wesnoth
just slow down and take your time. a good wesnoth player will be playing his gameboy and watching tv at the same time, so there's no rush.

Re: Why it is difficult to be good at Wesnoth
yeah, my instinct definitely improves over time, and i begin to see better and better moves with every game. but i still tend to fall into those weaknesses over and over again, and the 'good' moves tend to be good only with a given response, another dangerous thing to do. never expect the enemy to d...

Why it is difficult to be good at Wesnoth
I've played Wesnoth for a few years now, and I've started to realize that it is really hard to be good at it. I've played enough to know 'good' strategy, to know when to attack and when to run, what is good against what, and yet I'm still not good. I've realized that it is psychologically unnatural ...

Re: The Modern Multiplayer Map Reader's Digest
tried doc's changes. i am liking the feel of p2, for the most part. they definitely have a chance now. but a few things concern me. the afternoon start will definitely not allow for the deathblade rush. orc rush should still be more or less ok. but what about a drake/loyalist rush? the *only* thing ...

Re: The Modern Multiplayer Map Reader's Digest
hey, i just made a post on HGB, but i'll repost it here: whenever i go into a ladder game that's hosted on HGB it feels like a set-up, and usually it is. assuming both players are of equal or similar skill level, and have equal or similar luck, player 1 will most likely win. if these criteria are me...

howling ghost badlands - balance me, please
whenever i go into a ladder game that's hosted on HGB it feels like a set-up, and usually it is. assuming both players are of equal or similar skill level, and have equal or similar luck, player 1 will most likely win. if these criteria are met and player 1 is chaotic, player 1 *will* win. i was pla...

Re: 1v1 Replays! (THE ARCHIVE)
some howling ghosts badlands games. in the first game, nelson beat me with orc 1 vs drake 2 on howling ghost badlands. after he beat me, i told him it was rigged and drakes could not beat orcs with that match-up on that map if luck and skill level is close to the same. so we played three more games....
