Re: What is the minimum amount of experience for recalling
I do wish the developers would give level 0 units a reduced recall cost. It bothers me that there is never any real justification for recalling a level 0 unit, they simply aren't worth the 20 gold. I did recall some of the loyal peasants when I played The South Gaurd, hoping to advance them to leve...

Re: "Story" or "Trainer" difficulty level for mainline campaigns
If you're having trouble beating a scenario, can't you just rewind the game back to turn x and try again?

Re: The suicide bomber
Sounds like fun.
Does not sound practical.
I like strategies that instead give me the options of either "I win" or "you lose."

Re: A Few Questions
I played a game of 3v3 (me and 2 AI's vs. 3 AI's), where we each had a RCAI on each team. Map was Waterloo sunset. My RCAI (undead) was in the middle, whereas the opponents' RCAI was in the upper left (Drakes). It seemed to me that each was the weakest link for each side. I'll see if I can post a re...

Inspiration?
So first of all, hello. I'm Ferrous, and I've been enjoying Wesnoth for about a year now, and sooner or later I'd like to start contributing to the music scene for Wesnoth (ETA is dependent on some RL issues). The two things that I'm good at is music (I happen to be a movie soundtrack aficionado and...

Re: Bad luck? Read this
Forgive me if I am repeating an argument previously made, but I do believe that while perception of ability (the Dunning-Kruger effect) is a main source of complaint, there is a statistical one as well. According to the probabilities present, if a unit A has a 50% chance of hitting unit B, then on a...

Re: Bad luck? Read this
Sometimes you fail to note the lucky events because if you hit so many times in a row, you might kill the other unit before you can see the full extent of your "luck". It's true though. Bad luck is louder than good luck. We take it for granted when things go our way, and raise a fuss when ...

Re: Replace "Back to Turn X" with "Pay Gold to Revive"?
Hm. I like the idea, but I think I would only want to implement it for campaigns, and only implement it as follows: Instead of getting rid of the "back to turn x" feature altoghether, how about you just allow the player to recall the "critically injured unit" from his keep, at th...

Re: Hero basics
I like to send out my hero in the second or third wave in a campaign mission - with enough units out in front so I know I can beat the mission and don't have to recruit more (or rely on my hero(es)), but open up chances for my hero to gain XP. Once my hero has reached top level, I almost always keep...

Re: Suggestion. Update the random generator to Mersenne twister.
Forgive me for perhaps overstating my case or repeating similar arguments, I'm a little new on the forums here: I agree with Velensk, AI et al. I think we need to realize that there is an enormous difference between a 1% chance of something happening and a 0% chance of something happening. One can s...

Re: Which is your favortie race to play and why?
Knalgans are my preference. Ghosts can be a problem sometimes if I'm not being careful (especially since they counter ulfs rather well, the DA killer), but their tactical advantages more than make up for it. Dwarves are a little slow and obviously not optimal on terrain that's not mountain/hill/keep...

Re: Dark Passage
Although it looks like discussion on this piece has died off, I thought I may as well add my two cents. (granted, while I'm a musician and a gamer, I'm new to the art of video game music composition. So these are just my thoughts, take them as you will) 00:00: A very captivating and dramatic entranc...

"Client Disconnect"
My friend and I downloaded the new development version of Wesnoth, and whenever we tried to make a game, it didn't work. Whenever he joined a game I made, he'd get "Client disconnect" and automatically exit out. I could join his game, but after he started it, I got the same message. Versio...
