Gah (!), you didn't read what I wrote. Default maps were not designed to be balanced for whatever unbalanced usermade faction or era a player uses (that includes AOH). However- I remember that Velensk did write up some sort of a "if it's none of these factions, give them x,y, and z units,"...

Version 0.9.5 is out.
The only relevant change is a fix for the long range Cannon attack, that always hitted on the latest wesnoth version.
The others changes are all minor, but now wmllint and wmlscope must stop complaining completely.

I don't know if also other countries experienced a similar problem, but in Italy seems impossible to contact the official mantainer (and responsable) of Italian translation. - fixing bugs of the rest of Elvish_Hunter's wmlscope descriptions (I am still not sure where/when "bell.wav" is gone...) You are right, wmlscope still complaints a couple of time about sounds (bell.wav) and images that aren't on the core folder. I wasn't bothered enought to fix those too...

Yes, as Velensk said, you can try the ranged era. You can find it in the add on server for wesnoth 1.8. At the moment I don't plan to port it to wesnoth 1.9/10, cause it's based on old code (wesnoth 1.4), and probably it's better to start again from scratch than to update the old code. The era is no...
