Re: Corvvs' Thread of Ill-Fated Portraits: Merman Hunter
What Turuk said. I'll finish the top half first, then fix that. Palm given a bit more love; more armor done.

Re: Corvvs' Thread of Ill-Fated Portraits: Merman Hunter
Thanks for the help. I fiddled with the armor (i.e. redid it). There is new linework, but feel free to ignore it as there are some serious flaws I have yet to address.

Re: Woodmouse's sprites
Looks like a pokemon - very cute. IMO the shading looks realistic too - good job.

Bronze shading done, I suppose. How does it look?

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil
That looks quite nice, I must say. Still, maybe curve all the ends of the flames upward to make it clear that they're flames and not supposed to symbolize sunlight?

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
On the cavalier the horse's hindquarters seem to jut out a bit much - I've only _very_ rarely been around horses so IDK precisely how big one would be with relation to the rider; it just seems odd to me. Also, what do the different colors signify? I know they'll all be turned to black and then paint...

I can't quite understand what you're saying, but I gave it a shot anyway. Is this what you mean?

Re: Corvvs' Thread of Ill-Fated Portraits: Merman Hunter
Ok... I actually talked with TSI about it (the anatomy and lines, esp. the forehead) on IRC and went ahead with the shading a _while_ ago, but got swamped in work almost immediately. I'm finally having time to continue chugging along, so here we go. Shrunk down to normal portrait size and sharpened ...

Re: Woodmouse's sprites
You need to get out of the ADD rut that you ' r e in and nail down some of your sprites. This is a pretty standard process for most all artis ts w h ether they be professionals or hobbyis ts . [semi-OT rant] I don't see why everyone has come here to beat on woodmouse. He's doing what makes h...

Re: Corvvs' Thread of Ill-Fated Portraits: Merman Hunter
I didn't fix the shoulder because I think it looks ok now that the straps are there. Flats, etc. C&C please.
... and btw, does his forehead recede to fast? Should it go up further so his face/head ratio is lower? I think it got kinda messed up when I took the helmet off.

Re: Corvvs' Thread of Ill-Fated Portraits: Merman Hunter
I did some nicer, cleaner, weighted lines, taking into account the red-line. *yawn* /me goes off to bed
oh, btw... is that bump on his right shoulder a bit too big, or is it just me?
EDIT: the armor has been removed after discussion with TSI on IRC. He's back to level one again.

Re: Corvvs' Thread of Ill-Fated Portraits: Merman Hunter
^ Thanks. Here we go *drumroll*. I spent about an hour reworking the anatomy and armor. Here's what I did: -moved the collar bone -added a sternocleidomastoid muscle -redid the trapezius muscle to go with the new collarbone -reworked the deltoid muscle, separating it from the pectorals -gave him tri...
