Re: What are you reading right now?
I just finished 1984 a bit ago. Is it bad that I actually thought "Oh, everyone is happy now, what a nice society" for a second at the end?
Now I'm going through Terry Prachett, reading "The Fifth Elephant" at the moment.

Re: Multi monitor support
I don't think enough people use multiple monitors to make this a priority. It seems more like something that's "It would be cool if someone did this, but no one is specifically going to work on it."

But seriously, too many Xtreme Ultimate Survival on the server. That sort of stuff is only acceptable for online games whose default is not as awesome as Wesnoth.

Re: What are you reading right now?
Right now I'm reading The Grapes of Wrath . It's a good book and i'd probably be enjoying it if it weren't for the fact that my teacher makes us keep a journal and literally take breaks every few pages to "record our thoughts" :annoyed: That sort of thing ruined quite a few books for me. ...

Re: My Wose
corpses/logs of their fallen comrades. Woses are actually made of wood.? I thought they were fairy people thingies(like Elves) that happened to look like trees. This is news to me. It's kinda unclear. According to "Story of the Wose" they're just animated trees, but the descriptio...

Re: What are you reading right now?
Rex, I do believe that was a rhetorical question. ;) Huckleberry Finn is without a doubt a racist book, but as Turin points out, it was written to convey a point about society. Those racial slurs and the attitude about Jim in the book are Mark Twain's way of waving a red flag about how bad society ...

Re: What are you reading right now?
Is "Huckleberry Finn" a racist book? Well, yes but not because of the racial slurs. :) Jim takes a secondary role throughout the book, being pushed aside whenever the plot requires it, and the last third of the book is just horrible. More on topic, I didn't like TQAM (Edit: To Quill a Moc...

Re: Skeleton Warrior
On a semi-related note, is anyone else on here running GIMP on Mac OS 10.5 via X11? And if so, do you find that it crashes every 5~10 minutes? It's not a major issue as long as I save frequently, but if there's a bugfix, I'd love to know (I've Googled around a lot and not found anything, but...). N...

I thought it was a Roman god. (Btw: Where did the Windsong come from? Are they based on something, I do not know?) The Second Foundation from Isaac Asimov's "Foundation Trilogy in 7 parts." kinda... The unit descriptions mention a "Foundation" a lot, and they seem to be tr...

Re: What are you reading right now?
I assume you're talking about the novelization of Nightfall. The original short story is probaly the greatest of all time, but streaching it out into a book made it lose some of the impact. Oh, and I'm reading Brisingr by Christopher Paolini. Seems okay so far, and the plot is getting more original...
