Re: iPad version support/feedback thread
Hi there, as a long, long time player of BfW, I must say, this was one of the biggest shocks to find on iPad and one of the happiest surprises :) Seriously, you have outdone yourself. It gets more playtime than any other app I own and when I found out it was was an iPad app, it swayed my decision to...

Re: Do Soulless have a a use?
yeah, thats what I thought. But i did think I would ask as maybe there was some trick to using them. Just got through the caves in DiD and was quite glad that i had a few corpses in there, but yeah, don't think I will be recalling any of them. it really became a toss up between using them to kill - ...

Do Soulless have a a use?
I've just begun Descent Into Darkness, and it's my first time playing any amount of time with undead. Can someone tell me if it is ever a good idea to recall Soulless (L2 Walking Corpse) when I can recruit three Walking Corpse for roughly the same price? They don't seem to be able to advance a furth...

Re: Statistics per unit
I agree with Viliam. (and others) I don't care too much about the luck in the game. It's there. It's kinda cool. And I guess it would be interesting to know if one 'lucky' unit hapened to survive right from the second scenario in the campaign without me having to remember his name. But yes it should...

Re: Scenario Review: DiD 4 - Beginning of the Revenge
Well, I haven't done any reviews for any of the scenrios yet, but I really enjoyed this one so I thought I would. hope that's ok :) (1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on? Evoker (Challenging) (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) I can only compare it to other camp...

Re: Stuck on HttT The valley of death
good job. If I go back to play HttT on medium (but what fun will that be..). I will try to use even more shamans and get a whole lot levelled up. still want to try and get all three liches dead on hard though. Whenever I get a little tired of the campaign im on I got back to this level to try and do...

Re: Stuck on HttT The valley of death
Thats a really god idea. I went back to redo this scenario combining the grand knight and line of archers. But I didnt use archers, I ONLY used shamans. I had a couple of more powerful units with them to combat the wraiths (playing on hard) but ended up gaining four druids at the end of the level an...

Re: recruit, recall, dismiss
feel free to disagree with my strategy... But i recall everyone. EVERYONE. Not necessarily as the first units i hire, sometimes i will recruit some level ones to take the brunt of attacks, but if they survive they will definitely be recalled at some point. Actually if they hadnt engaged in combat i ...

Re: The best two traits, etc.
yeah, I find intelligent is the worst trait. resilient is great if im wanting a defender - someone who a mage can hide behind and 'steal' a couple of kills. But of course it depends on the unit. Quick is great if im in need of money - that extra movement can really, really help when trying to captur...

Re: A few simple ideas
Entrench really does seem like a cool idea - really useful in those scenarios when you are attacked from all sides. In saying that though, those scenarios can always be completed without the 'entrench ability... Also; I don't think Wesnoth is swimming with magical items - unless i've been missing ou...

Re: Is there a way to get a score at end of campaigns?
Dave: thanks for your reply, what you think really is important to me (and not only because you and the other developers are some of my all time favourite heroes :) ) but because you really do know what you are talking about. Unfortunately I dont. The extent of my programming is one comp-sci course ...

Re: Is there a way to get a score at end of campaigns?
Yeah, I always liked that in homm as well. That was the sort if thing I was thinking of. Just something simple that if im talking to my mate I could say something along the lines of "I just finished HttT on hard, I got a score of XxX and had 400 gold and 14 L3 units..." I dunno, It would b...

Re: Stuck on HttT The valley of death
just did it on hard again. basically I think the only major difference was that I had a couple of white mages this time. Seems to help more than I thought it would, and i only lost about 5 L2/L3 units. Im happy with that. I went straight down and killed that lich and was just able to kill the green ...

Re: victory conditions - Bonus?
yeah i gather that. But are the scenarios that stipulate in brackets that there is a bonus if you kill the leader (instead of just surviving turns or reaching a point still just cash? It would seem that we wouldnt need to be told that there was a bonus in that case as there is always a bonus for fin...

victory conditions - Bonus?
Just wondering if there was a list of what the bonuses are if you finish scenarios in a campaign before you have to. I always try to get the bonus condition if I can, but often dont know what I actually get as my bonus (other than gold for finishing x number of turns early). For example in HttT, Wha...
